Breves: Aplazadas las veladas del Vargas-Smith y del Makhmudov-Wach

La coincidencia de veladas que inicialmente se iba a producir el día 5 de febrero finalmente ha quedado diluida y con una única velada en pie. Después de que se aplazase el evento José Carlos Ramírez vs. José Pedraza, ahora le ha llegado el turno al del Jessie Vargas vs. Liam Smith, primera cartelera del año de Matchroom Boxing que ahora será resituada en una fecha por confirmar. El motivo de ello es un presunto positivo en PCR de Jessie Vargas, aunque se ha informado de que éste no tiene ningún síntoma y que se encuentra bien. Así, ahora el PPV del Thurman-Barrios será emitido sin competencia en la jornada del 5 de febrero.
Otra velada que también se aplaza es la que iba a organizar Eye of the Tiger Management el día 22 de enero. En ella el destacado prospecto del peso pesado Arslanbek Makhmudov iba a medirse al veterano exretador mundial Mariusz Wach, pugna que finalmente tendrá lugar el día 19 de febrero. El motivo es que se han producido una serie de nuevas restricciones a la organización de eventos en la provincia en la que se encuentra Montreal que han impedido a la promotora mantener el evento en la fecha original.

The coincidence of fight cards that initially was going to take place on February 5 has finally been supressed, with a single bill still on. After the postponement of the José Carlos Ramírez vs. José Pedraza card, now has been the turn of the one headlined by Jessie Vargas vs. Liam Smith, Matchroom Boxing’s first card of the year that will now be relocated on a date to be confirmed. The reason for this is a presumptive positive PCR from Jessie Vargas, although it has been reported that he has no symptoms and is well. So, now the Thurman-Barrios PPV will be aired alone on February 5.
Another fight card that has also been postponed is the one that Eye of the Tiger Management was going to organize on January 22. In it, the outstanding heavyweight prospect Arslanbek Makhmudov was going to face veteran former world challenger Mariusz Wach, fight that will finally take place on February 19. The reason is that there have been new restrictions on the organization of events in the province in which Montreal is located that have prevented the promoter from maintaining the card on the original date.
