Breve: Tony Yoka no se enfrentará a Filip Hrgović en la eliminatoria IBF del peso pesado

No parece que esté cerca de terminar el culebrón que está resultando encontrar un adversario para que se media al invicto croata Filip Hrgović en una eliminatoria IBF del peso pesado. Y es que, después de que Tony Yoka aceptase negociar la pugna ante él, el oro olímpico francés se ha retirado de estas conversaciones al haber sido notificado a la IBF que este púgil tiene un contrato vigente según el cual debe medirse a continuación a Martin Bakole. Por lo tanto, la búsqueda de un rival para Hrgović sigue adelante, si bien lo hace sin perspectivas demasiado optimistas respecto a que termine en buen puerto, al menos no ante un adversario de élite.
Algunos afirman que es impensable que el equipo de prestigiosísimos abogados de Yoka no supiese que estaba obligado a pelear con Bakole antes de aceptar la eliminatoria, y que señalar públicamente que quería la pugna contra Hrgović sólo fue una acción propagandística sabiendo que el duelo no iba a tener lugar. Sea cierto esto o no, el hecho es que no habrá Hrgović-Yoka de momento y que nos tendremos que contentar por ahora con un Yoka-Bakole, si es que llega a materializarse…

The undefeated Croatian Filip Hrgović is not close to find an opponent to finally fight him in an IBF heavyweight eliminator. After Tony Yoka agreed to negotiate the bout against him, the French Olympic gold medalist has withdrawn from these talks. The reason is that the IBF has been notified that Yoka has a contract according to which Martin Bakole must be his next rival. Therefore, the search for an opponent for Hrgović continues, although it does without seeming that this story will end successfully, at least not in a match against an elite boxer.
Some claim that it is unthinkable that Yoka’s team of prestigious lawyers did not knew that he was obliged to fight Bakole before accepting the eliminator, and that publicly stating that he wanted the fight against Hrgović was only propaganda knowing that the duel was not going to take place. Whether this is true or not, the fact is that there will be no Hrgović-Yoka for now and that maybe we will see a fight between Yoka and Bakole…
