Breve: Hearn sobre la próxima defensa obligatoria de Canelo, “La WBO y el WBC estarán de acuerdo en un Benavídez vs. Andrade”

Si todo va según ha sido estipulado, dentro de unos meses veremos dos peleas por provisionales títulos interinos en el peso supermedio. Por un lado, Demetrius Andrade y Zach Parker se enfrentarán para lograr la posición de retador obligatorio de Canelo por la WBO, mientras que por el otro David Benavídez y David Lemieux combatirán por ocupar la plaza también de aspirante oficial pero por el WBC.
Ante esta situación, el promotor de Andrade, Eddie Hearn, ha señalado que en el caso de que la defensa obligatoria WBO no esté disponible para Canelo en el momento en que le toque ejecutarla, se podría buscar un choque entre los ganadores de ambas peleas por título interino, dando por hecho el promotor que los vencedores serán Andrade y Benavídez:
“La WBO y el WBC estarán de acuerdo en una pelea Benavídez contra Andrade. Los dos tendrán que aceptar. Andrade aceptará. Aceptamos ya. Pero Benavídez tiene que pelear contra Lemieux, ganará esa pelea cómodamente, y entonces veremos si quiere pelear contra Andrade”.

If all goes according to the plan, in a few months we will see two fights for provisional interim super middleweight titles. On the one hand, Demetrius Andrade and Zach Parker will face each other to achieve Canelo’s mandatory challenger position for the WBO, while on the other David Benavídez and David Lemieux will fight to occupy the position of mandatory challenger in the WBC.
With this situation, Andrade’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, has indicated that in case that the mandatory WBO defense is not available in its turn, a bout between the winners of both interim fights could be sought, assuming the promoter that the winners will be Andrade and Benavídez:
“The WBO and WBC will agree to a Benavidez against Andrade fight. Both guys have got to accept. Andrade will accept. We accept now. But Benavidez has got to fight Lemieux, he’ll win that fight comfortably, and then let’s see if he wants to fight Andrade”.
