La primera cartelera que Matchroom Boxing organizará en 2022 en Reino Unido, la del Jacobs-Ryder, tendrá en su respaldo a un buen número de invictos locales que son parte del futuro del boxeo británico, púgiles que partirán como claros favoritos en sus respectivos choques para lograr victorias e intentar hacer que el recinto apodado “Ally Pally” (Alexandra Palace) vibre tanto en esta incursión en el boxeo como lo hace con los fans que lo abarrotan para presenciar el mundial de dardos.
Cash en la escena internacional
Triunfos por KOT consecutivos ante Jack Cullen, Jason Welborn y, sobre todo, el invicto Denzel Bentley en campeonato británico, han hecho que Felix Cash 14(10KO)-0 haya despuntando en el peso medio de su país y haya ido más allá, situándose internacionalmente en los puestos 8º WBO y 14º IBF. Tratando de expandir horizontes en las clasificaciones oficiales, este sábado Cash peleará además por un título menor WBC contra el 3º WBA, el ruso Magomed Madiev 15(4KO)-0-2, plata mundial juvenil como amateur entre otros logros. No obstante, aunque es evidente que el visitante tiene cualidades técnicas, Madiev está gestionando bastante mal los tiempos de sus combates como profesional, por lo que de sus 17 peleas 2 han sido empates y 3 las ha vencido de forma muy ajustada o controvertida.
Por ello, un Cash que cada vez es un mejor ejemplo de agresividad eficaz, contundencia y variedad en aspectos ofensivos, parece que, aunque quizás pueda necesitar realizar ajustes inicialmente por la destreza de su rival, debería terminar aprovechando una bajada de rendimiento de un Madiev con escasa pegada para superarle claramente.

¿Otra figura del boxeo británico femenino?
El boxeo femenino goza de gran salud en Reino Unido, habiendo un gran número de figuras consolidadas y en expansión a las que se suman una buena cantidad de prospectas. Una de ellas es la peso supergallo Ellie Scotney 3(0KO)-0, oro británica como amateur, actualmente entrenada por el prestigioso Shane McGuigan, que en sólo tres combates profesionales ha mostrado tener un gran nivel y un mayor potencial. Tanto es así que para su cuarta pugna ya afrontará un duelo a diez asaltos ante una excampeona mundial como la argentina Jorgelina Guanini 9(1KO)-3-2.
Aunque Guanini es una púgil con habilidad y acciones talentosas en el boxeo dinámico, Scotney de momento está mostrándose muy sólida, usando bien los bloqueos, gestionando muy adecuadamente los espacios, peleando de forma satisfactoria en todas las distancias y usando al ataque o al contragolpe nítidos puños. Por ello, y llegando Guanini de dos derrotas, Scotney entra como amplia favorita en las apuestas a este mayor combate de su carrera hasta la fecha.

“The Romford Bull” busca 5º knockout
Con cuatro combates profesionales y cuatro knockouts, el peso pesado británico Johnny “The Romford Bull” Fisher 4(4KO)-0 ha arrancado con muy buen pie su trayectoria y ya cuenta con una considerable cantidad de seguidores. Estando así las cosas, a Fisher le toca ya un paso adelante en aumento de dificultad, que lo dará este sábado ante el español Gabriel Enguema 10(6KO)-11(4). Este rival no puede tener más sentido para los matchmakers de la compañía de Eddie Hearn, puesto que Enguema superó por amplia decisión unánime en campeonato de España del peso pesado a Álvaro Terrero, el último boxeador al que Fisher batió (KOT en el segundo asalto el pasado octubre).
Por lo tanto, y contando Enguema con experiencia ante púgiles como Óscar Rivas, Evgeny Romanov y Viktor Vykhryst, Fisher encarará un paso adelante, si bien uno que la cúpula de Matchroom Boxing confía en que podrá superar, siendo además esta una buena oportunidad para medir hasta dónde llega la pegada del británico.

Entre otros duelos que tendrán lugar en la velada del Jacobs-Ryder, se producirán subidas al ring para los prospectos Ivan “Hopey” Price 6(2KO)-0, que se enfrentará en el peso supergallo al fogueado mexicano Ricardo Román 14(5KO)-12(5)-3, y el estadounidense Austin “Ammo” Williams 9(7KO)-0, que pugnará en el peso medio contra el veterano argentino Javier Francisco Maciel 33(23KO)-15(2).
DAZN emitirá la cartelera del Jacobs-Ryder desde las 20:00 en hora española, las 19:00 en las Islas Británicas y las 14:00/11:00 PT.

The first bill that Matchroom Boxing will organize in 2022 in the United Kingdom, the Jacobs-Ryder card, will have in its support a good number of undefeated local boxers whom are part of the future of British boxing, fighters whom will be clear favorites in their respective clashes to achieve victories and try to make the venue nicknamed “Ally Pally” (Alexandra Palace) vibrate as much in this boxing show as it does with the fans who pack it to witness the world darts championship.
Cash on the international scene
Consecutive TKO wins against Jack Cullen, Jason Welborn and, above all, the undefeated Denzel Bentley in a British championship, have made Felix Cash 14(10KO)-0 stand out at middleweight in his country and even gone further, ranking internationally as 8th WBO and 14th IBF. Trying to expand horizons in the official rankings, this Saturday Cash will fight for a minor WBC title against the 3rd WBA, the Russian Magomed Madiev 15(4KO)-0-2, who as an amateur was, among other achievements, silver medalist in the youth world championship. However, although it is evident that the visitor has technical qualities, Madiev is managing the times of his fights quite poorly as a professional, so that of his 17 fights 2 have been draws and 3 have been won by him in a very tight or controversial way.
For this reason, it seems that Cash, who is becoming a great example of effective aggressiveness and offensive variety, although he may need to make adjustments initially due to the skills of his rival, should end up taking advantage of a drop in rhythm from Madiev to clearly overcome him.
Another figure of British women’s boxing?
British women’s boxing is in great health, with a large number of established and expanding figures to which are adding a good number of prospects. One of them is Ellie Scotney 3(0KO)-0, national gold medalist, currently trained by the prestigious Shane McGuigan, who in just three professional fights has shown a high level and greater potential. So much so that for her fourth fight she will already face a ten-round duel against a former world champion like the Argentine Jorgelina Guanini 9(1KO)-3-2.
Although Guanini is a fighter with good skillset and with talented actions in the dynamic boxing, Scotney is proving to be very solid at the moment, using blocks well, managing space appropriately, fighting effective at all distances and using in attack or counterattack compact punches. For this reason, and coming Guanini from two losses, Scotney enters as wide betting favorite to this biggest fight of her career to date.

With four professional bouts and four knockouts, British heavyweight Johnny “The Romford Bull” Fisher 4(4KO)-0 has had a good career start and already has a considerable following. With this context, Fisher now is bound to a step forward, which he will face this Saturday against the Spanish Gabriel Enguema 10(6KO)-11(4). This rival could not make more sense for the matchmakers of Eddie Hearn’s company, since Enguema defeated by wide unanimous decision (in a Spanish heavyweight championship) Álvaro Terrero, the last boxer Fisher beat (TKO in the second round, last October).
Therefore, and with Enguema having experience against fighters such as Óscar Rivas, Evgeny Romanov and Viktor Vykhryst, Fisher will have a better test than in his last fight, although one in that Matchroom Boxing trusts he will prevail. Also this will be a good opportunity to measure the punching power of the British boxer.
Price and Williams
Among other duels that will take place on the Jacobs-Ryder evening, there will be bouts for the prospects Ivan “Hopey” Price 6(2KO)-0, who will face seasoned Mexican Ricardo Román 14(5KO)-12(5)-3 in a super bantamweight clash, and the American Austin «Ammo» Williams 9(7KO)-0, who will fight in the middleweight limit against Argentine veteran Javier Francisco Maciel 33(23KO)-15(2).
