Con un agresivo boxeo y tres knockdowns favorables, Salvador “Salvi” Jiménez derrotó a Adrián Rodríguez por KOT y se proclamó campeón de España del peso superpluma. Este enfrentamiento fue sucedido por una contundente victoria de otro púgil de esta división, Alex Rat, que terminó en el tercer round con Helber Rojas.

La eliminatoria WBA del peso wélter entre Gabriel Maestre y Taras Shelestyuk terminó con un empate dividido que quizás podría estar sucedido por una revancha, si bien no les dio el impulso decisivo que buscaban y les quitó tiempo, precisamente lo que menos les sobra.

El tramo principal de la velada de AGON Sports dejó un pleno de los boxeadores de la promotora, que fortalecieron, y quizás mejoraron un tanto, su posicionamiento en la lista IBF a la vez que se acercaron a peleas más importantes. El superwélter Haro Matevosyan 15(9KO)-0 venció a Johan Pérez 27(16KO)-10(3)-2 por decisión unánime (120-108 y doble 118-110). El también superwélter Jack Culcay 30(13KO)-4 derrotó a Khalil El Harraz 14(1KO)-2-1 de forma unánime (98-92,98-93 y 97-93) y podría alcanzar un mundial si en el futuro el cetro IBF quedase vacante. El peso medio Vincenzo Gualtieri 19(7KO)-0-1 llegó por cuarta vez al duodécimo asalto y superó por decisión unánime (120-108, 119-109 y 118-110) a Dario Socci 14(6KO)-7(1)-2.
El cinturón mundial WBA del peso minimosca cambió de manos, puesto que la insigne monarca Yesica Bopp fue destronada de forma dividida por la difícil Jessica Nery Plata, nueva titular mundial.

En cuanto al campeonato de la Unión Europea por el vacante cinturón del peso wélter, Aitor Nieto 25(10KO)-8(1)-1 fue derrotado por decisión mayoritaria (118-111, 116-112 y 114-114) a manos de Jon Míguez 16(7KO)-0. Así Míguez logró la mayor victoria de su carrera hasta la fecha, logró su primer título de ámbito continental y se acercó al campeonato de Europa, cinturón que posee un David Avanesyan que no tardará mucho en dejarlo vacante. De todos modos, quizás el objetivo más cercano para Míguez sea alguna defensa de su cinto UE, siendo el aspirante obligatorio Mehdi Mouhib.
En cuanto al peso superligero Jonathan Alonso 21(7KO)-2, éste sufrió una tremenda sorpresa, puesto que el visitante venezolano Luis Enrique Romero 10(6KO)-5(1)-1 le derrotó a los puntos y le hizo dar un importante pasó atrás en la persecución de sus objetivos.
Respecto a la velada polaca, el peso superpluma Kamil Laszczyk retornó a la actividad venciendo a Ismail Galiatano, aunque tuvo que levantarse una vez de la lona. Por otro lado, el peso supermedio Patrick Szymanski fue vencido por KOT ante Karol Welter y el peso superwélter Tomasz Nowicki sumó un triunfo controvertido ante Juan Ruiz. -El campeonato británico por el vacante cinturón supergallo terminó con el invicto prospecto Chris Bourke 10(6KO)-1 sufriendo de forma unánime (117-111, 116-113 y 116-112) su primera derrota ante el enrachado Marc Leach 18(4KO)-1-1, nuevo campeón que ahora, como mínimo, se asentará en los combates en la cumbre nacional.
-El peso superwélter Ardreal Holmes 12(5KO)-0 sumó un triunfo unánime (98-92, 97-93 y 96-94) ante Vernon Brown 13(9KO)-2-1 que podría llevarle próximamente a aparecer en un importante evento de PBC, algo que también podría sucederle al peso ligero Edwin de los Santos 14(13KO)-1 que noqueó duramente en el segundo asalto a Luis Acosta 12(11KO)-1(1).
-El peso semipesado, olímpico venezolano Albert Ramírez 12(11KO)-0, sumó como visitante su primer triunfo ante un rival de nivel medio venciendo a Facundo Galovar 13(8KO)-7(1)-2 por decisión unánime (99-91 y doble 98-92) y el peso medio argentino Guido Schramm 13(8KO)-1-1 padeció su primera derrota ante Cristian Ayala 8(3KO)-1-1, que con una decisión unánime (doble 97-93 y un 96-94) y un título menor WBO podría llegar a aparecer en los rankings.
Sábado 12 de marzo
Leigh Wood fue derribado duramente en el primer asalto y fue estremecido incontables veces por golpes de poder pero, contrariamente a la lógica, con cada round parecía menos cansado y más explosivo hasta que noqueó sobrecogedoramente al invicto Michael Conlan.

En el semifondo, el peso medio Caoimhin Agyarko ganó pero tuvo un boxeo pobre en cuanto a recursos y no logró noquear a Juan Carlos Rubio, pelea precedida por el exitoso retorno de la excampeona mundial Terri Harper ante Yamila Abellaneda.

Aunque fue derribado en una ocasión y perdió dos puntos, el excampeón mundial Jezzrel Corrales 26(10KO)-4(1) terminó venciendo de forma unánime (115-109, 116-108 y 117-108) al invicto mexicano Miguel Madueño 27(25KO)-1, que también perdió un punto. En teoría esta era una pelea eliminatoria semifinal del peso ligero, así que es posible que Corrales alcance en la segunda mitad del año una mayúscula pugna.
En el respaldo, el excampeón mundial panameño Anselmo Moreno 41(14KO)-6(2)-1 batió por KOT en el duodécimo asalto al mexicano Gustavo Piña 10(5KO)-4(2)-2 y podría participar a continuación en una eliminatoria del peso pluma; el extitular mundial venezolano Liborio Solís 33(14KO)-6-1 fue derribado en una ocasión pero venció de forma unánime (doble 95-94 y un 96-93) a Alejandro Jair González 10(6KO)-4(1)-2; el prometedor peso mosca Anthony Olascuaga 3(1KO)-0 cumplió su objetivo y venció de forma unánime (triple 78-74) al veterano Gilberto Pedroza 19(8KO)-9(3)-2; y el imbatido Elvin Ganbarov 16(14KO)-1(1) fue derrotado por KO en el quinto round ante Johan González 30(30KO)-1, que seguramente accederá pronto a una pugna significativa.

-El puertorriqueño Christian Tapia 14(12KO)-0 logró una nueva victoria, si bien no consiguió derrotar antes del límite al encajador Luis Lebrón 18(11KO)-3-1, al que batió de forma unánime (99-91, 98-92 y 97-93). Aun así, avanza a paso firme y de seguir así no debería tardar mucho en aparecer en los rankings del peso superpluma.
Domingo 13 de marzo
El peso wélter Samuel Vargas 31(14KO)-8(5)-2 pretendía regresar a la senda del triunfo después de dos duras derrotas antes del límite, pero el polaco Przemyslaw Runowski 20(5KO)-2 le derrotó de forma unánime como visitante. Este resultado no tendrá trascendencia para la lucha en los rankings, pero Runowski indudablemente se ha ganado ser seleccionado próximamente como piedra de toque para algún peso wélter con aspiraciones.

The WBA welterweight eliminator between Gabriel Maestre and Taras Shelestyuk ended with a split draw that could perhaps be followed by a rematch, although it did not give them the decisive boost they were looking for and made them lose time, precisely what they have the least to spare. The main part of the AGON Sports evening had wins of the boxers of the promotional company, who strengthened, and perhaps somewhat improved, their position on the IBF list while getting closer to more important fights. Super welterweight Haro Matevosyan 15(9KO)-0 defeated Johan Pérez 27(16KO)-10(3)-2 by unanimous decision (120-108 and double 118-110). Super welterweight Jack Culcay 30(13KO)-4 beat Khalil El Harraz 14(1KO)-2-1 by unanimous decision (98-92, 98-93 and 97-93) and could reach a world championship in the near future if the IBF title is vacated. Middleweight Vincenzo Gualtieri 19(7KO)-0-1 reached the twelfth round for the fourth time in his career and unanimously (120-108, 119-109 and 118-110) defeated Dario Socci 14(6KO)-7(1)-2.
The WBA light flyweight world belt has a new owner, since the monarch Yesica Bopp was dethroned by split decision against the difficult Jessica Nery Plata, new world titleholder. Read more following the link.
As for the European Union championship for the vacant welterweight belt, Aitor Nieto 25(10KO)-8(1)-1 was defeated by majority decision (118-111, 116-112 and 114-114) at hands of Jon Miguez 16(7KO)-0. Thus, Míguez achieved the greatest victory of his career to date, obtained his first continental title and got closer to the European Championship, a belt that David Avanesyan owns and that will vacate soon. However, perhaps the closest target for Míguez will be a EU title defense. His mandatory challenger is Mehdi Mouhib.
As for the super lightweight Jonathan Alonso 21(7KO)-2, he suffered a big upset, since Venezuelan visitor Luis Enrique Romero 10(6KO)-5(1)-1 defeated him on points.
In the Polish evening, super featherweight Kamil Laszczyk returned to activity beating Ismail Galiatano, although he had to get up once from the canvas. British Leigh Wood was knocked down hard in the first round and was rocked countless times by power shots but, against logic, with each round he seemed less tired and more explosive until he brutally knocked out the undefeated Michael Conlan. Read more following the link.
In the co-feature, middleweight Caoimhin Agyarko won but boxed inadequately and failed to knock out Juan Carlos Rubio, fight preceded by the successful return of former world champion Terri Harper against Yamila Abellaneda. Read more following the link.
The decisive tests for prospects Gary Cully and Sandy Ryan ended with disparate results: Cully won in just five rounds against the tough former champion Miguel “Títere” Vázquez and Ryan suffered her first loss against former champion Erica Farías. Read more following the link.

Welterweight Samuel Vargas 31(14KO)-8(5)-2 tried to return to winning ways after two tough defeats, but the Pole Przemyslaw Runowski 20(5KO)-2 defeated him as a visitor by unanimous decision. This result will be of little consequence for the rankings, but Runowski has undoubtedly earned being selected as a test or tune-up fight for some welterweight with aspirations.
