El competente peso mosca estadounidense Josué Morales 23(7KO)-12-4 logró su mayor triunfo hasta la fecha sobre el mexicano Arnulfo Salvador Rodríguez 15(9KO)-3(1)-1, a quien venció por decisión unánime de los jueces (doble 96-94 y un 97-93). Con este éxito Morales capturó un título menor WBC que debería darle acceso al ranking de este organismo y acercarle a una notable pugna. En este mismo día el pegador francés del peso superwélter Milan Prat se anotó un nuevo knockout, en este caso en sólo un round y contra un boxeador con buen encaje como Joel Julio.

Respecto al retorno del exaspirante mundial Curtis Stevens, éste dio un nuevo paso atrás en su carrera (que se encuentra en muy mal estado) al ser derribado y vencido por el modesto Joshua Conley.

En cuanto al prospecto guatemalteco Lester Martínez 11(10KO)-0, éste cumplió los pronósticos y derrotó por KOT al mexicano José Luis Zúñiga 16(9KO)-7(4)-1, por lo que se recuperó de su anterior trabajada pugna y podrá continuar con confianza su fase de desarrollo, que debería prolongarse todavía bastante.
Viernes 25 de marzo
La velada de Probellum concluyó con una amplia victoria del peso superligero Lewis Ritson, que tuvo una de sus mejores actuaciones ante el veterano, y venido a menos, excampeón mundial Dejan Zlaticanin. En el semifondo debutó como profesional el plata olímpico Pat McCormack, que a penas tuvo que esforzarse para vencer a Justin Menzie.

Antes de estos choques, el evento ofreció un campeonato británico del peso superwélter en el que el titular Troy Williamson cayó a la lona y tuvo que aplicarse mucho para conservar su título (de forma algo cuestionable) ante Mason Cartwright. La cartelera principal se inició con un triunfo a los puntos del prospecto Mark Dickinson sobre Peter Kramer.

Por otro lado, en el único mundial de la jornada la campeona IBF del peso mínimo Yokasta Valle volvió a derrotar en la revancha a la japonesa Sana Hazuki con una amplia decisión unánime, mostrando que necesita retos de más calado, especialmente una unificación. El decisivo combate entre exranqueados del peso superwélter terminó con el canadiense Michael Zewski 35(23KO)-3(2) batido por KOT en el noveno round a manos del visitante mexicano Carlos “Chema” Ocampo 33(21KO)-1(1). Con ello, Ocampo consiguió la victoria más relevante de su carrera, que debería acercarle al top 5 WBO del peso superwélter y al top 15 WBC y al alcance de una pugna trascendental en una gran velada estadounidense en el último tercio de la temporada.
Respecto al respaldo, el pegador del peso superligero Movladdin Biyarslanov 10(8KO)-0 superó en el cuarto round su test ante Roberto Verdugo 10(4KO)-4(2)-1, demostrando una vez más que está listo para combates de mayor calibre, y el peso wélter Sebastien Bouchard 19(8KO)-2(1)-1 agravó las dudas sobre sus posibilidades en el peso wélter empatando (96-94, 95-95 y 93-97) contra Ricardo Lara 22(10KO)-9(3)-1.
El bronce olímpico, peso crucero profesional, Kamshybek Kunkabayev no se midió finalmente a Johnny Muller, sino al sustituto tardío Farrukh Juraev, que sucumbió en el segundo round. El combate estelar terminó siendo un choque del peso superligero en el que al mexicano José Macías se le robó la victoria de forma descarada ante el kazajo Ray Seitzhanov. Otro resultado controvertido llegó en el choque del peso superligero Mohammed Mimoune vs. Cesar Francis, puesto que el primero, pese a caer a la lona, hizo más que suficiente para vencer pero los jueces le otorgaron el triunfo a su invicto oponente. En la jornada tuvieron lugar estos otros combates:
-El peso supermedio Lukasz Stanioch 8(1KO)-0 fue otro más de los casos en los que a un prospecto se le sitúa en una prueba de fuego demasiado pronto, por lo que a duras penas pudo sacar una decisión dividida (doble 77-75 y un 74-78) ante el excampeón continental Hadillah Mohoumadi 23(16KO)-6(1)-1. Por ello, parece necesario que Stanioch dé un paso atrás en próximos combates y afiance su nivel antes de seguir avanzando.
-De todos modos, mayores fueron las dificultades del peso superligero Bryan Flores 21(13KO)-0-1, que cayó tres veces a la lona en su pelea de desarrollo ante el fogueado Néstor Adrián Maidana 10(7KO)-10(5)-1, si bien el invicto acabó noqueando en el noveno asalto a su rival. Pese al mérito que tiene esta victoria remontando, Flores mostró brechas evidentes, pareciendo que tiene mucho trabajo por delante antes de estar preparado para pelear ante rivales cercanos al top 15.
Sábado 26 de marzo
El campeón mundial IBF del peso pluma Kiko Martínez perdió su cinturón ante el exmonarca mundial Josh Warrington, quien para lograr la victoria no se apoyó en su boxeo sino en trampas deliberadas (y permitidas por el árbitro) con las que provocó múltiples cortes en su rival antes de llevarle al KOT.

En el respaldo, el promotor Eddie Hearn vio cumplido otro deseo, que su protegida Ebanie Bridges se proclamase campeona mundial, algo que ésta logró por decisión unánime ante María Cecilia Román. Antes, el peso ligero Maxi Hughes demostró el grado de eficacia que ha alcanzado su boxeo anulando al duro y peligroso Ryan Walsh.

Respecto al debut estadounidense del aspirante obligatorio WBO del peso superwélter Tim Tszyu, éste se inició de la peor manera, con un knockdown en el primer round, pero el invicto trabajó con dureza en el resto de la pelea para castigar y derrotar al olímpico Terrell Gausha.

La sorpresa de la jornada llegó en el enfrentamiento del peso ligero entre el extitular mundial Miguel Berchelt y el voluntarioso Jeremia Nakathila, puesto que el primero de ambos fue derribado y vencido en el sexto asalto, dibujando muchas dudas sobre su futuro en esta nueva división.

Uno de los grandes nombres del fin de semana fue el argentino Gustavo Daniel Lemos 28(18KO)-0, que se mostró intratable en la eliminatoria IBF del peso ligero ante el exmonarca Lee Selby 28(9KO)-4(1), quien en su anterior pelea generó problemas a Kambosos pero que esta vez padeció la primera derrota antes del límite de su carrera (KOT en el quinto) tras ser derribado tres veces. En base a este resultado, además de catapultar su prestigio, Lemos ganó un acceso obligatorio al mundial IBF, actualmente en posesión del citado monarca unificado Kambosos.
En el respaldo vencieron también con contundencia dos invictos locales: la ahora campeona IBF-WBO minimosca Evelin Bermúdez 16(6KO)-0-1, que batió por KOT en el quinto asalto a Débora Rengifo 16(9KO)-9(4)-1 y que parece una potencial titular indiscutida de la categoría, y el prospecto semipesado Braian Suárez 17(16KO)-0, que dejó su porcentaje de knockouts en el 94% con una victoria en el séptimo episodio ante Durval Elías Palacio 9(6KO)-2(1).
Cambiando de cartel, otro pegador que venció antes del límite fue el peso supermedio Christian Mbilli 21(19KO)-0 quien, según a quién se le pregunte, logró un formidable KO o una victoria sospechosa contra el exretador mundial Nadjib Mohammedi 44(27KO)-9(6), que cayó de forma aparatosa en el quinto asalto. Sea como sea, Mbilli está listo para una prueba de fuego en el nivel alto y su equipo debería centrarse en conseguírsela.
En el semifondo el peso superwélter Artem Oganesyan 13(11KO)-0 retornó al ring venciendo en el quinto asalto a un Stephen Danyo 20(7KO)-5(1)-3 que se anotó un knockdown pero que posteriormente sufrió una lesión de rodilla.
En cuanto al enfrentamiento del peso crucero Richard Riakporhe 14(10KO)-0 vs. Deion Jumah 14(7KO)-1(1), el primero de ambos se impuso por KO en el octavo asalto y se acercó al top 5 WBC y al top 10 WBA. De todos modos, en la memoria de muchos siguen presentes sus poco convincentes actuaciones ante Billam-Smith y Massey, por lo que habrá que esperar a verlo en una pugna crucial ante un clasificado para valorar realmente cuál es su nivel.
La velada polaca de TVP Sport dejó un pleno de triunfos de los favoritos locales, si bien con diferente grado de claridad. El exaspirante mundial del peso medio Kamil Szeremeta 22(6KO)-2(2)-1 batió por KOT en el décimo asalto a Sasha Yengoyan 45(26KO)-9(1)-1, que nunca había perdido antes del límite. El peso invicto semipesado Pawel Stepien 17(12KO)-0-1 logró una ajustada victoria mayoritaria (doble 77-75 y un 76-76) contra el argentino Ezequiel Maderna 27(17KO)-8(3). Y el peso supermedio Rafal Wolczecki 6(4KO)-0 derrotó a de forma unánime (57-56, 59-54 y 60-53) a Mateo Verón 29(8KO)-28(9)-3.
La jornada del sábado ofreció estos otros resultados:
-El imbatido supermedio cubano Ihosvany Rafael García 7(6KO)-0 siguió avanzando a paso firme con un KOT en el tercer asalto sobre Patrick Rokohl 22(16KO)-2(2), necesitando pruebas más duras, mientras que el peso ligero Radomir Obrusniak 6(2KO)-0 lidió con el mexicano Diego Fabián Eligio 22(9KO)-7-1 con notable solvencia teniendo en cuenta su escasa experiencia, venciendo de forma unánime (79-72 y doble 78-73).
–Jean Jacques Olivier 13(10KO)-2(1) se proclamó campeón de la Unión Europea del peso crucero derrotando por abandono en el sexto asalto a Olivier Vautrain 18(8KO)-4(1)-1.
-Continuando su andadura en el peso pesado, el sudafricano Kevin Lerena 27(14KO)-1 batió por KO en el cuarto asalto a Bogdan Dinu 20(16KO)-4(4) y ahora podría acceder al ranking WBA en base a un título menor capturado.
Domingo 27 de marzo
El fin de semana también dejó la coronación de un nuevo campeón de Japón del peso mínimo, puesto que Ginjiro Shigeoka 7(5KO)-0 venció por decisión unánime (99-91 y un 98-92) a Tatsuro Nakashima 11(7KO)-3(2)-1 para hacerse con el cinto vacante. Shigeoka es top 5 en los cuatro organismos mundiales y pronto podría disputar una eliminatoria final.

Thursday March 24
The competent American flyweight Josué Morales 23(7KO)-12-4 achieved his greatest victory to date over the Mexican Arnulfo Salvador Rodríguez 15(9KO)-3(1)-1, whom he defeated by unanimous decision (double 96-94 and one 97-93). As for the Guatemalan prospect Lester Martínez 11(10KO)-0, he fulfilled the predictions and defeated the Mexican José Luis Zúñiga 16(9KO)-7(4)-1 by TKO. With this result he recovered from his previous hard-fought fight and will have more confidence to continue his development phase, which should still take a long time.
Friday March 25
Probellum’s evening concluded with a lopsided victory for super lightweight Lewis Ritson, who had one of his best performances against veteran former world champion Dejan Zlaticanin. One of the big names of the weekend was Argentine Gustavo Daniel Lemos 28(18KO)-0, who, in a IBF lightweight eliminator, defeated former champion Lee Selby 28(9KO)-4(1). In his previous fight Selby was difficult for Kambosos, but this time he suffered his first loss by stoppage (TKO in the fifth) after being knocked down three times. In addition to catapulting his prestige, Lemos won mandatory access to the IBF world championship, currently in possession of the aforementioned unified monarch Kambosos.

Still, his not convincing performances against Billam-Smith and Massey are still fresh in the minds of many, so we’ll have to wait to see him in a hard test against a ranked boxer to better assess his level.
The Polish evening aired by TVP Sport ended with triumphs for the local favorites, although with different degrees of clarity. The weekend ended with the coronation of a new Japanese minimumweight champion, since Ginjiro Shigeoka 7(5KO)-0 beat Tatsuro Nakashima 11(7KO)-3(2)-1 by unanimous decision (99-91 and 98-92) to capture the vacant belt. Shigeoka is top 5 in all four world organizations and could soon fight in a final eliminator.
