Es innegable que la diferencia en dimensiones entre ambos boxeadores era muy notable, pareciendo que pertenecían a categorías diferentes, algo que ciertamente era así: el mexicano José Ángel “Chaneke” Flores Chan 9(2KO)-6(3)-2 perdió en 2018 en el peso superpluma contra Isaac Cruz y en los últimos tiempos había combatido en torno al peso wélter. Aun así, no dejó de ser llamativo que el invicto prospecto francés Milan Prat 15(12KO)-0 se anotase otro rápido triunfo sólo 15 días después del obtenido ante Joel Julio, dando la sensación de que se va a dar al púgil importante apoyo promocional y que éste pretende agradecerlo de la mejor manera que pueda.
En cuanto al combate, no hay mucho que contar, ya que Flores Chan se centró en desplazarse por el ring tan ágil como pudo para intentar reducir la amenaza que suponen los golpes de poder de Prat, pero fue alcanzado por aislados directos o ganchos zurdos, todos los cuales parecían dañarle ligeramente.
Tras un primer asalto muy poco activo al ataque, el visitante amagó con tirar más manos al comienzo del segundo, pero pronto volvió a ser presionado, ahora con más intensidad. Un potente uppercut diestro de Prat aumentó las dificultades de Flores Chan que, después de cierto hostigamiento, fue conducido a una esquina, donde recibió un derechazo que le tiró al tapiz. “Chaneke” se levantó tambaleante, así que el árbitro decidió decretar el KOT.
A pesar de que en el combate hubo en juego un cinturón menor IBF, las perspectivas de futuro inmediatas para Prat no han cambiado en las últimas dos semanas, sino que simplemente su racha de knockouts está ahora en 10 y todavía es más evidente que necesita un paso adelante significativo, resultando una buena opción que dispute a continuación el campeonato UE por el vacante título del peso superwélter, al que es coaspirante junto a Isaac Real.
Respecto al respaldo del evento, los favoritos se impusieron también. En el campeonato francés del peso crucero, el campeón Eddy Lacrosse 13(6KO)-8-2 ofreció un evidente esfuerzo, ganó asaltos y con su presión creó un combate exigente para el extitular Dylan Bregeon 12(3KO)-2-1, pero este último usó su precisión en larga y su reciente experiencia de calidad para terminar ganando el combate por decisión dividida (97-93, 96-94 y 94-97) y recuperar el título de Francia. Sin duda, tras alguna defensa de su título nacional, Bregeon podría apuntar a una pelea por el cinto de la Unión Europea ante su compatriota Jean Jaques Oliver.
Por otro lado, el vacante cinturón de Europa femenino del peso superwélter fue capturado con una decisión unánime (doble 98-92 y un 97-93) por la local Priscilla Peterle 5(2KO)-0, que derrotó a la sueca Marianne Ahlborg 5(1KO)-1. Este es un éxito de vital importancia para Peterle, puesto que en una categoría con unas pocas decenas de boxeadoras en todo el mundo y que tiene menos de 10 clasificadas en las listas mundiales, lograr un cinturón continental y batir a la 3ª WBA e IBF le valdrá situarse muy cerca de una oportunidad mundialista.

It is undeniable that the difference in dimensions between both boxers was very notable and it seemed that they belonged to different divisions, something that was certainly the case: the Mexican José Ángel «Chaneke» Flores Chan 9(2KO)-6(3)-2 lost in 2018 at super featherweight against Isaac Cruz and had recently fought around welterweight. Even so, it was still striking that undefeated French prospect Milan Prat 15(12KO)-0 scored another quick win just 15 days after the one he obtained against Joel Julio, seeming that the fighter is going to receive important promotional support and that he intends to thank it in the best way he can.
As for the fight, there is not much to tell, since Flores Chan focused on moving around the ring as agile as he could to try to reduce the threat posed by Prat’s power shots, but he was hit by straight punches or left hooks, all of which seemed to harm him slightly.
After a first round in which he was very inactive at attack, the visitor threw few more hands at the beginning of the second, but soon came under pressure again, this time with more intensity. A powerful right uppercut from Prat increased Flores Chan’s difficulties and, after some offensives, he was driven to a corner, where he received a right hand that knocked him to the mat. “Chaneke” got up wobbly, so the referee decided to stop the fight.
Despite the fact that a minor IBF belt was at stake in the fight, Prat’s immediate future prospects have not changed in the last two weeks. Simply, his knockout streak is now at 10 and it is even more apparent that he needs a significant step forward, being a good option the EU championship for the vacant super welterweight title, to which he is challenger alongside Isaac Real.
Regarding the support of the event, the favorites also prevailed. In the French cruiserweight championship, Eddy Lacrosse 13(6KO)-8-2 put in an obvious effort, won rounds and with his pressure created a demanding fight for former titleholder Dylan Bregeon 12(3KO)-2-1, but the latter used his precision at long range and his recent quality experience to end up winning the fight by split decision (97-93, 96-94 and 94-97) and recover the French belt. Without a doubt, after some defenses of his national title, Bregeon could point to a fight for the European Union belt against his compatriot Jean Jaques Oliver.
On the other hand, the vacant European female super welterweight belt was captured with a unanimous decision (double 98-92 and a 97-93) by the local Priscilla Peterle 5(2KO)-0, who defeated the Swedish Marianne Ahlborg 5 (1KO)-1. This is a success of vital importance for Peterle, since in a category with a few dozen boxers around the world and less than 10 ranked boxers in the official lists, obtaining a continental belt and beating the 3rd WBA and IBF could mean being very close to a world championship opportunity.
