La programada emisión en directo por YouTube de la velada de Shuan Boxing no llegó a ponerse en marcha, si bien la promotora subió posteriormente los combates principales por separado. En el encuentro estelar, el exaspirante mundial Norbelto “Meneito” Jiménez 31(16KO)-9(4)-6 logró una victoria unánime sobre el nicaragüense Keyvin Lara 31(11KO)-5(1)-1, de modo que se mantuvo preparado para la trascendental pugna que le llegará pronto en la lucha por el acceso al mundial supermosca, división en la que era 2º WBO, 7º WBC y 10º WBA antes de este triunfo.
En cuanto a los choques que acompañaron a este combate, el puertorriqueño René “Chulo” Santiago 9(7KO)-3 fue derrotado por decisión unánime a manos del mexicano Yudel “El Guerrerito” Reyes 14(4KO)-1, quien puso freno a las aspiraciones de este púgil y le arrebató su posicionamiento en el top 15 WBO del peso mínimo. Por otro lado, el excampeón mundial del peso mínimo Wilfredo “Bimbito” Méndez 17(6KO)-2(1) regresó a la senda del triunfo ante el modesto Kenny Cano 14(11KO)-5(3), boxeador que había perdido rápidamente sus últimos tres combates pero al que Méndez sólo venció por decisión técnica en el séptimo round.
Respecto a la velada francesa, esta dejó una nueva victoria por knockout del pegador superwélter Milan Prat, que venció al mexicano José Ángel Flores. También en el evento, el campeón francés del peso crucero Eddy Lacrosse perdió su título ante Dylan Bregeon, mientras que Priscilla Peterle se proclamó campeona de Europa superwélter ante Marianne Ahlborg.

Los restantes duelos destacados del viernes tuvieron estos resultados:
-El 15º WBO en el peso superwélter Damián “Samurai” Sosa 20(11KO)-1 cumplió con lo esperado y terminó antes del límite con Jesus Andrés “Ingeniero” Vega 22(13KO)-3(3)-1, en concreto por KO en el tercer asalto. De todos modos, la experiencia de calidad de Sosa es escasa, especialmente para un púgil ranqueado, por lo que si quiere estar preparado para una posible importante oportunidad debería encarar pronto duelos ante rivales, como mínimo, de nivel medio-alto o cercanos a las clasificaciones.
-El campeón de Sudáfrica del peso ligero Tshifhiwa Munyai 35(20KO)-6(3)-1 derrotó por decisión dividida al retador Aphiwe Mboyiya 17(8KO)-5(1)-1 en su tercera defensa titular, resultado meritorio para un veterano cerca del final de su carrera pero que demostró también que actualmente su techo está en el ámbito nacional.

A pesar de que ya no es ni una sombra de lo que fue, el kazajo Gennadiy “GGG” Golovkin supo resistir el empuje inicial de Ryota Murata y revertir la situación hasta lograr un triunfo por KOT en el noveno asalto. En virtud de esta victoria, Golovkin se convirtió en campeón mundial unificado WBA-IBF del peso medio.

En el semifondo el campeón WBO del peso mosca Junto Nakatani mostró nuevamente su tremenda calidad y su peligro batiendo por KOT en el octavo round al retador Ryota Yamauchi. Antes de este combate el invicto peso ligero Shuichiro Yoshino afianzó sus aspiraciones en la división derrotando al excampeón mundial Masayuki Ito en una emocionante batalla.

Hablando de espectaculares combates, los peso superwélter Erickson Lubin y Sebastián Fundora dejaron duros intercambios y sufrieron knockdowns. No obstante, finalmente fue Fundora quien logró aguantar mejor la batalla de desgaste y venció el combate, capturando el título interino WBC superwélter.

En el choque co-estelar, el excampeón mundial Tony Harrison tuvo una de sus mejores actuaciones en años, haciendo valer su técnica sin desfallecer ante el bravo y agresivo Sergio García para obtener un triunfo unánime.

Desafortunadamente, la velada del Lubin-Fundora se abrió con una nueva controversia, puesto que los jueces protegieron el invicto de Kevin Salgado dando un empate en su combate contra Bryant Perrella, quien realmente mereció la victoria debido a la destreza mostrada en esta pelea táctica.

Cambiando de cartelera y pasando a la de DAZN, el peso ligero Ryan García retornó al ring con una victoria ante un Emmanuel Tagoe que se centró en correr por el ring evitando el knockout. El visitante logró su objetivo y, pese a caer a la lona, fue vencido por decisión, aunque con amplísimas puntuaciones.

En uno de los veredictos más corruptos del año en el boxeo femenino, dos de los jueces le dieron todos los asaltos a Marlen Esparza en un muy igualado combate de unificación del peso mosca ante Naoko Fujioka, siendo evidente que las cartulinas estaban prefijadas. Antes de esta pugna, el peligroso Azat Hovhannisyan venció en sólo dos asaltos a Dagoberto Agüero.

Respecto a la cartelera de Top Rank, la campeona unificada WBO-IBF del peso superpluma Mikaela Mayer 17(5KO)-0 logró una amplísima victoria unánime (doble 100-90 y 99-91) sobre la extitular Jennifer Han 18(1KO)-5-1, señalando tras la pugna que quiere una unificación ante Alycia Baumgardner o Hyun Mi Choi o un choque ante la ganadora del Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano.
En el respaldo todos los favoritos se impusieron en sus combates de rodaje antes de pugnas más significativas. El peso wélter Giovani Santillán 29(16KO)-0 terminó por KO en el séptimo round con Jeovanis Barraza 23(15KO)-3(3), el peso supermosca Andrew Moloney 23(15KO)-2 batió en el octavo asalto al resistente Gilberto Mendoza 19(10KO)-12(3)-3 y el aspirante obligatorio IBF del peso pluma Luis Alberto López 25(14KO)-2 derrotó en el cuarto round a Raúl Chirino 19(12KO)-14(10).
Los restantes campeonatos mundiales femeninos de la jornada dejaron resultados muy diferentes. Por un lado, la mexicana Maribel “Pantera” Ramírez 13(3KO)-9(4)-3 retuvo su cinturón de campeona WBA del peso supermosca como visitante con un empate (doble 95-95 y un 96-95) ante la chilena Daniela “La Leona” Asenjo 11(2KO)-3-3, por lo que mantuvo su posición pero por muy poco, siendo evidente que necesita tener frecuencia de combates para intentar evitar ser destronada por una aspirante destacada.
En cambio, la danesa, campeona WBO del peso gallo, Dina Thorslund 18(7KO)-0 venció con una decisión unánime muy amplia (100-90 y doble 99-91) a la venezolana Niorkis Carreño 22(17KO)-3, apuntando tras el enfrentamiento a una unificación de coronas ante Ebanie Bridges, duelo potencial en el cual, sobre el papel, Thorslund parece tremendamente superior.
Pasando a la eliminatoria WBC del peso mosca, el imbatido mexicano Ángel Ayala 14(6KO)-0 superó su prueba de fuego ante el excampeón mundial Cristofer Rosales 32(21KO)-6(1) con una victoria unánime (116-111, 116-112 y 120-107), resultado que le asegura una pelea por título mundial ante Julio César Martínez.
Por lo que se refiere al peso superpluma italiano Michael Magnesi, éste extendió una vez más su racha de knockouts derrotando al mexicano Dennis Contreras por KOT en el quinto asalto, estando claro que está en un gran estado de forma. Por ello lo que debería hacer Magnesi es, de una vez por todas, dejar de pelear por el inútil y patético cinto IBO y tratar de lograr una pelea decisiva en las clasificaciones de los organismos oficiales, en los que es actualmente 10º IBF y 15 WBC.
Cerrando el artículo, se pueden mencionar estos otros resultados:
-El italiano Alessio Lorusso 17(6KO)-4-2 defendió su cinturón de campeón de la Unión Europea del peso gallo batiendo al español Jacob Barreto 13(5KO)-5(4) por KOT en el duodécimo asalto, por lo que se acercó a la disputa del campeonato de Europa, título actualmente vacante en la división.
-El joven peso mínimo filipino ArAr Andales 13(5KO)-2(1)-1 no logró el triunfo que buscaba para escalar en la clasificación mundial WBO, sino que se tuvo que conformar con un empate (doble 114-114 y un 112-116) ante Joey Canoy 17(9KO)-5(2)-2.
-El peso crucero italiano Simone Federici 19(8KO)-2-1 llevó a cinco su racha de victorias venciendo por decisión unánime (99-91 y doble 97-93) al ucraniano Lyubomyr Pinchuk 14(8KO)-3-1, triunfo significativo que le acercará todavía más al top 15 WBC (actualmente es 23º WBC) y que hace probable que pueda disputar una pugna importante antes de que termine el año.

The scheduled YouTube live broadcast of the Shuan Boxing evening never got aired, although the promoter later uploaded the main matches separately. In the main event, former world challenger Norbelto «Meneito» Jiménez 31(16KO)-9(4)-6 achieved a unanimous decision victory over Nicaraguan Keyvin Lara 31(11KO)-5(1)-1, so he remained prepared for the crucial bout that he will reach soon in the super flyweight division, in which he was WBO number 2, WBC number 7 and WBA number 10 before this triumph.
As for the clashes that supported this match, the Puerto Rican René “Chulo” Santiago 9(7KO)-3 was defeated by unanimous decision at the hands of the Mexican Yudel “El Guerrerito” Reyes 14(4KO)-1, who put a stop to the aspirations of his rival and snatched his position in the WBO minimumweight top 15. On the other hand, former minimumweight world champion Wilfredo “Bimbito” Méndez 17(6KO)-2(1) returned to winning ways against the low-level Kenny Cano 14(11KO)-5(3), boxer who had lost quickly his last three fights but which Méndez only defeated by technical decision in the seventh round.
Regarding the French event, this had a new stoppage victory of the super welterweight puncher Milan Prat, who defeated the Mexican José Ángel Flores. Also on the card, French cruiserweight champion Eddy Lacrosse lost his title to Dylan Bregeon, while Priscilla Peterle won the European super welterweight championship against Marianne Ahlborg. The remaining featured duels on Friday had these results:
-The WBO No. 15 super welterweight Damián “Samurai” Sosa 20(11KO)-1 met expectations and defeated Jesus Andrés “Ingeniero” Vega 22(13KO)-3(3)-1 by third round KO. However, Sosa’s quality experience is scarce, especially for a ranked fighter, so if he wants to be prepared for a possible important opportunity, he should face bouts soon against rivals, at least, of medium-high level or close to the rankings.
-South African lightweight champion Tshifhiwa Munyai 35(20KO)-6(3)-1 defeated challenger Aphiwe Mboyiya 17(8KO)-5(1)-1 by split decision in his third title defense, a meritorious result for a veteran boxer near the end of his career but which also showed that his ceiling is currently on the national level.

Although he is not as dangerous as he was in the past, Kazakh Gennadiy “GGG” Golovkin was able to resist Ryota Murata’s initial push and reverse the situation until he achieved a victory by TKO in the ninth round. In the undercard, WBO flyweight champion Junto Nakatani again showed his tremendous quality beating the challenger Ryota Yamauchi by TKO in the eighth round. Before this bout, undefeated lightweight Shuichiro Yoshino strengthened his aspirations in the division by defeating former world champion Masayuki Ito in a thrilling battle. Talking about spectacular bouts, super welterweights Erickson Lubin and Sebastian Fundora had tough exchanges and suffered knockdowns. In the co-main event, former world champion Tony Harrison had one of his best performances in years, using his technique and footwork against the brave and aggressive Sergio Garcia to obtain a unanimous decision victory. Read more following the link.
Unfortunately, the Lubin-Fundora evening opened with a controversy, as the judges protected the undefeated Kevin Salgado by giving a draw in his bout against Bryant Perrella, who really deserved the victory due to the skill displayed in this tactical fight. Read more following the link.
About the DAZN card, lightweight Ryan Garcia returned to the ring with a victory over Emmanuel Tagoe, who focused on running around the ring avoiding the knockout. The visitor achieved his goal and, despite falling to the canvas once, was defeated by decision, although with very wide scorecards. Read more following the link.
In one of the most corrupt verdicts of the year in female boxing, two of the judges gave Marlen Esparza all the rounds in a very close flyweight unification bout against Naoko Fujioka, so clearly the scorecards were set before the fight even started. Regarding the Top Rank evening, the unified WBO-IBF super featherweight champion Mikaela Mayer 17(5KO)-0 achieved a wide unanimous victory (double 100-90 and 99-91) over former titlist Jennifer Han 18(1KO)-5-1, stating after the fight that she wants a unification against Alycia Baumgardner or Hyun Mi Choi or a clash against the winner of Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano.
In the undercard, all the favorites prevailed in their tune-ups before more significant fights. Welterweight Giovani Santillán 29(16KO)-0 defeated by KO in the seventh round Jeovanis Barraza 23(15KO)-3(3), super flyweight Andrew Moloney 23(15KO)-2 beat in the eighth round resistant Gilberto Mendoza 19(10KO)-12(3)-3 and IBF mandatory featherweight challenger Luis Alberto López 25(14KO)-2 knocked out Raúl Chirino 19(12KO)-14(10) in the fourth round.
The remaining two female world championships of the day had very different results. On the one hand, Mexican Maribel “Pantera” Ramírez 13(3KO)-9(4)-3 retained her WBA super flyweight champion belt as a visitor with a draw (double 95-95 and one 96-95) against the Chilean Daniela “La Leona” Asenjo 11(2KO)-3-3, so she kept her position but just barely. Ramírez needs to have frequent fights to try to avoid being dethroned soon by a high level challenger.
On the other hand, Danish, WBO bantamweight champion, Dina Thorslund 18(7KO)-0 won with a very wide unanimous decision (100-90 and double 99-91) her bout against Venezuelan Niorkis Carreño 22(17KO)-3, pointing after the confrontation to a unification of crowns against Ebanie Bridges, a potential duel in which, on paper, Thorslund seems tremendously superior.
Moving on to the WBC flyweight eliminator, the unbeaten Mexican Ángel Ayala 14(6KO)-0 passed this decisive test against former world champion Cristofer Rosales 32(21KO)-6(1) with a unanimous decision victory (116-111, 116 -112 and 120-107), result that will give him a world title fight against Julio César Martínez.
As for Italian super featherweight Michael Magnesi, he once again extended his knockout streak by defeating Mexican Dennis Contreras by TKO in the fifth round, so it is evident that he is in great shape. Therefore, what Magnesi should do is, once and for all, stop fighting for the useless and pathetic IBO belt and try to reach a crucial fight in the rankings of the official organizations, in which he is currently IBF number 10 and WBC number 15.
Closing the article, these other results can be mentioned:
-Italian Alessio Lorusso 17(6KO)-4-2 defended his European Union bantamweight champion belt beating Spaniard Jacob Barreto 13(5KO)-5(4) by TKO in the twelfth round. In this way, Lorruso got closer to an European championship, title currently vacant in the division.
-The Filipino minimumweight ArAr Andales 13(5KO)-2(1)-1 did not achieve the victory he was looking for to climb the WBO ranking, but had to settle for a draw (double 114-114 and a 112 -116) against Joey Canoy 17(9KO)-5(2)-2.
-The Italian cruiserweight Simone Federici 19(8KO)-2-1 took his winning streak to five defeating by unanimous decision (99-91 and double 97-93) the Ukrainian Lyubomyr Pinchuk 14(8KO)-3-1, significant victory that will bring him even closer to the top 15 WBC (he is currently 23rd WBC) and that makes likely that he can access to an important fight before the end of the year.
