Cambiando de evento, el panameño Rafael Pedroza 13(11KO)-0 se anotó por decisión unánime (98-92 y doble 97-93) la mayor victoria de su carrera ante el invicto argentino Héctor “La Maquinita” Sosa 13(8KO)-1, triunfo que, más allá de que pueda llevarle a las listas mundiales, demuestra que tiene buen nivel y que podría tener cosas que decir en el futuro próximo en importantes choques del peso supergallo.
Acompañando a esta pelea, el peso wélter panameño Alexander Durán 21(7KO)-0 tuvo un exitoso retorno al ring venciendo por amplísima decisión unánime (triple 80-72) al ecuatoriano Edwin Bennett 15(7KO)-3, necesitando ahora no perder tiempo en la persecución de sus objetivos, y el invicto mexicano Ramsés “Rayito” Pérez 8(2KO)-1 padeció su primera derrota con una decisión unánime (80-72 y doble 78-74) ante el panameño Ronal Batista 14(8KO)-2(1), que sin duda podría ser un buen test para muchos púgiles con aspiraciones.
Respecto al choque de invictos peso superwélter, éste resultó tan contendido y bien emparejado como se intuía, logrando en él finalmente la victoria el húngaro Balasz Bacskai 16(8KO)-0 con una trabajada decisión unánime sobre el neerlandés Xavier Kohlen 11(5KO)-1. De ese modo, Bacskai da otro paso adelante más en su carrera profesional, aunque debería mantener la mayor cadencia de peleas posible si quiere evitar que las grandes oportunidades le lleguen demasiado tarde. Por otro lado, Kohlen demostró como visitante, y pese a su falta de experiencia, que es un boxeador altamente competente.
Finalmente Adrián “Gato” Curiel fue baja y no pudo pelear contra Erick “Habanerito” López 16(10KO)-5(1)-2, quien pugnó contra el sustituto tardío Jorge Luis “Huesitos” Orozco 17(11KO)-3-2. Esta entretenida pelea terminó con un empate (96-94, 93-97 y 95-95) que fue muy controvertido, siendo mayoría quienes no estuvieron de acuerdo con el veredicto y quienes pensaron que López mereció la victoria.
En el enfrentamiento de los pesos pesados hijos de campeones mundiales, James McKenzie Morrison batió por KOT en el quinto episodio a Hasim Rahman Jr., valioso triunfo que debería traducirse en un muy importante impulso para su trayectoria.

-El peso medio ruso Andrey Sirotkin 20(7KO)-2(2)-1 regresó a la senda del triunfo con una decisión unánime sobre el bravo bielorruso Viktar Murashkin 4(3KO)-3.
-El peso supergallo Darren Cunningham 15(8KO)-2 fue vencido por el mexicano Ángel Antonio Contreras 12(6KO)-5(2)-2, quien tuvo otro éxito como visitante más con el que demostró definitivamente que es un boxeador de buen nivel y al que no se debe subestimar.
-El peso supermedio Elvis Bravo 14(9KO)-2(1) finalmente no combatió contra Joaquín Murrieta, sino contra el sustituto Ramón «El Cholo» Barajas 14(4KO)-26(7), que venía de derrotar al extop 15 Brad Solomon. En este duelo Bravo venció por decisión unánime, quedando ahora a la espera de que se le sitúe en un test mayor ante un púgil con aspiraciones.
-El peso medio mexicano Asís Rodríguez 14(10KO)-2 evidenció su pegada terminando en el primer asalto con Alexis Gaytán 11(3KO)-9(3), triunfo que sugiere que está listo para retos más significativos.
Sábado 30 de abril
El enfrentamiento más esperado en el boxeo femenino terminó cumpliendo a la perfección con las expectativas, ofreciendo Katie Taylor y Amanda Serrano una fantástica batalla en la que los jueces dieron un veredicto final de decisión dividida a favor de la primera, quien quedó seriamente tocada en el quinto asalto.

En el semifondo del Taylor-Serrano, el exmonarca mundial Liam Smith fue demasiado para el extitular Jessie Vargas, quien fue desgastado por el trabajo ofensivo de su adversario hasta sucumbir por KOT en el décimo asalto.

Por lo que se refiere a la unificación de títulos mundiales del peso superpluma, Shakur Stevenson impuso su velocidad, reflejos y defensa para derribar y derrotar por amplia decisión unánime al invicto monarca en dos divisiones Óscar Valdez.

El aspirante obligatorio de Mendy es Edis Tatli, quien en su carrera reciente ha padecido importante inactividad.

-El título de campeona neozelandesa del peso superpluma fue conquistado por Mea Motu 12(5KO)-0, que sumó el mayor éxito de su carrera con una decisión unánime (80-72, 78-74 y 78-75) sobre la fogueada Baby Nansen 9(1KO)-5-1.
-El exaspirante del peso mínimo Samuel Salva 19(12KO)-1(1) dio un golpe en la mesa en su retorno, tras dos años de inactividad, derrotando en el primer asalto a Jeffrey Galero 17(8KO)-8(4) para evidenciar que está dispuesto a luchar por otro mundial.
-El peso superligero Zoravor Petrosyan 13(5KO)-2 volvió a la senda del triunfo venciendo al nicaragüense Robin Zamora 16(8KO)-12(5), pero no obtuvo un knockout, sino una victoria unánime (78-75 y doble 78-74) que quizás no le devuelva tanta moral como necesita recuperar.

Beyond the possible entry in the world rankings, Pedroza showed that he has a good level and that he could have things to say in the near future in important super bantamweight clashes.

Regarding the clash of undefeated super welterweights, it turned out to be as contested and well matched as expected, with the Hungarian Balasz Bacskai 16(8KO)-0 finally achieving victory with a hard-fought unanimous decision over Dutch Xavier Kohlen 11(5KO)-1. In doing so, Bacskai takes another step forward in his professional career, although he should fight as frequently as possible if he wants to avoid big opportunities coming too late. On the other hand, Kohlen showed on the road, and despite his lack of experience, that he is a highly competent fighter.

The most anticipated confrontation in female boxing ended up perfectly meeting expectations, since Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano offered a fantastic battle in which the judges gave a split decision verdict to the former, who was really hurt in the fifth round. Read more following the link.
