Brad Foster vs. Ionut Baluta encabezará velada de Frank Warren

La compañía Queensberry Promotions, dirigida por Frank Warren, ha anunciado que el día 20 de mayo el peso supergallo británico Brad Foster y el rumano, residente en España, Ionut Baluta se enfrentarán en un muy interesante combate que encabezará una velada desde el York Hall de Londres, Reino Unido, emitida por BT Sport.
El local Foster llega de perder sus cinturones británico y de la Commonwealth en una controvertida derrota contra el campeón de Europa supergallo Jason Cunningham, mientras que Baluta dejó una gran actuación en Reino Unido contra Michael Conlan, ante el que perdió por una ajustada decisión mayoritaria que incluso fue cuestionada por algunos.
Así, viéndose las caras dos boxeadores de probada valía, muy capaces y que están en buenos momentos en sus trayectorias, este parece que debería ser un entretenido duelo en el que se contrapondrán la ordenada agresividad de Foster y el constante dinamismo y actividad de Baluta.
En el respaldo está previsto que participen prospectos como Andrew Cain o Charles Frankham, enfrentándose el primero al mexicano Luis Moreno y el segundo a Sandeep Singh Bhatti.
En el anuncio oficial, el promotor Frank Warren afirmó lo siguiente respecto a Foster y su próxima pelea:
“Estoy esperando con ansia ver a Brad Foster volviendo a situarse en las conversaciones, aunque no tendrá una noche de trabajo fácil contra Ionut Baluta, que ha demostrado sus credenciales en varias ocasiones contra oponentes favoritos. Brad nunca ha buscado un combate fácil y su ascenso hasta convertirse en campeón británico en una edad tan joven fue notable. No tuvo suerte contra Jason Cunningham y la decisión podría haber ido para los dos lados, pero un tropiezo en una pelea igualada nunca va a dañar sus perspectivas de futuro. Hay tantas peleas emocionantes que realizar en el peso supergallo y Brad quiere estar justo en el medio de todo ello.”
