El peso pesado sueco Otto Wallin superó por decisión unánime su rodaje contra el estadounidense Rydell Booker, mientras que el peso superligero uzbeko Shohjahon Ergashev derribó dos veces al argentino Luis Verón antes de un triunfo también unánime, así que ambos quedaron listos para peleas decisivas en el último tercio del año.

En cuanto al campeonato sudafricano del peso superpluma, el titular Sibusiso Zingange 17(4KO)-6(3)-2 perdió su título a causa de una lesión de hombro que le impidió seguir en el décimo round de su combate ante el retador Lunga Sitemela 14(7KO)-1. De ese modo, Sitemela capturó el cinturón nacional, se recuperó de su derrota ante Yaqubov y ahora podrá apuntar a útiles defensas en el circuito de su país mientras espera una nueva propuesta para hacer de test en el ámbito internacional.

El número 1 WBC del peso crucero Aleksei Papin derribó cinco veces al exaspirante mundial Dilan Prasović para anotarse un triunfo por KO en el segundo asalto, aunque quizás el Consejo no le deje acceder a continuación al mundial contra Ilunga Makabu. Vídeo y crónica del combate siguiendo el enlace:

El choque coestelar dejó un resultado inesperado, puesto que el exretador mundial del peso semipesado Maxim Vlasov fue derribado y posteriormente derrotado en el séptimo asalto ante un Dilmurod “Little Mike” Satybaldiev con gran desventaja en dimensiones y experiencia y que prácticamente estaba inactivo desde 2017. Respecto al test para el prometedor peso supermedio cubano Osleys Iglesias 6(5KO)-0, éste derribó en una ocasión y derrotó por amplia decisión unánime (doble 118-109 y un 120-107) al intrincado exaspirante mundial Isaac “Golden Boy” Chilemba 26(10KO)-9(1)-3. De ese modo, aunque no logró la gesta de batir antes del límite al duro Chilemba, Iglesias demostró que con sólo seis combates ya es un boxeador con un nivel muy notable y que podría ser una verdadera amenaza para la cumbre cuando agrande su experiencia con peleas ante boxeadores del top 15 o cercanos a las listas.
El viernes tuvo también estos otros resultados:
-En el combate entre los peso wélter mexicanos Rodolfo “Sinaloita” Orozco 30(22KO)-3-3 e Isaías “Bestia Jr.” Lucero 14(8KO)-0 fue este último quien se impuso por decisión unánime (97-92 doble y un 97-94), mayor victoria de su carrera hasta la fecha en su primer combate a diez rounds. Por su parte el exaspirante mundial supermosca Jonathan “Titán” Rodríguez 24(17KO)-2 derrotó por KOT en el séptimo round a Jorge Sánchez Zárate 6(6KO)-4(2)-2 y quedó preparado para una pelea de relieve.
-El campeón de Argentina del peso wélter Juan Hernán Leal 15(4KO)-3 perdió su título ante el prospecto José “Sansón” Rosa 14(11KO)-0, que se impuso por decisión unánime de los jueces (triple 96-94) para llevar su carrera a un nuevo nivel.
–Fateh Benkorichi 12(2KO)-1-1 conservó su título italiano del peso ligero con una victoria unánime sobre Gianluca Picardi 10(2KO)-2, aunque todavía tendrá que encarar varias defensas antes de poder apuntar al título de la Unión Europea.
-Por una ajustada decisión mayoritaria (94-96 doble y un 95-95) Adrián “Gallero” Pacheco 9(5KO)-5-1 fue vencido a manos de Jonathan Ramírez Casas 10(7KO)-3(2), que logró su triunfo más significativo y que en base a él se encaminará a nuevas oportunidades en el peso superpluma mexicano para las que quizás no esté preparado.
Sábado 28 de mayo
Con una actuación paciente, el peso ligero Gervonta “Tank” Davis esperó el momento para abatir a Rolando “Rolly” Romero, que fue vencido por KOT en el sexto asalto con un contragolpe crucial.

El semifondo terminó de la manera predecible, con el cubano Erislandy Lara asestándole una nueva derrota antes del límite al castigado Gary O’Sullivan. No obstante, Lara ha perdido mucha agilidad y en una pelea ante un peso medio de élite podría padecer serias dificultades.

Antes de este combate el prometedor peso superwélter Jesús “Mono” Ramos logró una victoria por decisión unánime ante un Luke Santamaría que dio lo que tenía pero que no pudo equipara el trabajo de su contrincante.

La cartelera principal del evento Davis-Romero se inició con el peso superpluma Eduardo Ramírez obteniendo un triunfo por decisión mayoritaria ante Luis Meléndez, quien pese a la derrota dejó una buena actuación.

El enfrentamiento entre Jackie “La Princesa Azteca” Nava 39(16KO)-4(1)-4 y Jasseth “Dinamita” Noriega 27(5KO)-5-2 fue cancelado por lesión de la primera, provocando modificaciones en el cartel. Sí se disputó el combate del peso superligero en el que el mexicano Omar “Pollo” Aguilar 24(23KO)-0 dio una nueva muestra de su pegada batiendo en el segundo asalto al argentino Alfredo “Alfi” Blanco 22(11KO)-10(1), necesitando ya pruebas más exigentes antes rivales con aspiraciones.
Otro joven púgil que se hizo con un triunfo en el evento fue el peso mosca Gohan Rodríguez 12(1KO)-1-1 que derrotó por decisión unánime a Brian Mosinos 22(5KO)-4 para continuar acumulando experiencia y escalando en las listas, en las que ya aparece como 12º WBO y 15º WBC.
Cambiando de evento, pero sin abandonar México, la excampeona mundial Kenia Enríquez 24(10KO)-1 demostró que tiene serias posibilidades de coronarse en el peso mosca asestándole la primera derrota antes del límite de su carrera a la exretadora mundial Gabriela “La Bonita” Sánchez 8(0KO)-5(1), que perdió por KO en el décimo round. De todos modos, Enríquez necesitará sobre todo un adecuado apoyo promocional para que no le pase igual que en su última fase en el peso minimosca, en la que estuvo durante más de tres años como titular interina WBC sin lograr el acceso a la pelea por la corona absoluta.
Terminando con el sábado, se pueden mencionar estos otros resultados:
–Quentin Gomes 14(4KO)-0 capturó el vacante título belga del peso wélter con un knockout en el primer asalto sobre Hakim Ben Ali 22(2KO)-8(4), resultado que es muy positivo y que le dará mucha moral pero que puede ser engañoso respecto a su nivel actual.
-La peso wélter canadiense Mary Spencer 5(3KO)-0 venció por amplísima decisión unánime (triple 80-72) a la argentina Yamila “La Maquinita” Reynoso 12(8KO)-11-3, así que en tres semanas peleará contra la excampeona Chris Namús.
-El peso supermedio Mohamed El Achi 20(6KO)-3(2)-3 venció por KOT en el décimo asalto a Stefano Castellucci 34(11KO)-11(6), aunque en un eventual paso adelante posiblemente volverá a quedarse corto.
-Los pesos pesados Manuel Charr 33(19KO)-4(3), Christian Hammer 27(17KO)-9(4) y Ali Eren Demirezen 16(12KO)-1 lograron fáciles victorias en sus rodajes. Charr derrotó por knockout en el tercer asalto a Nikola Milacić 21(14KO)-3(2), Hammer batió en el primer round a Drazan Janjanin 22(19KO)-35(21) y Demirezen venció por decisión unánime a Kevin Johnson 35(19KO)-19(3)-1.
Domingo 29 de mayo
Finalmente, el brasileño Esquiva Falcao 30(20KO)-0 se impuso por decisión unánime de los jueces al argentino Cristian Fabián Ríos 23(7KO)-15(1)-3, sumando diez rounds de rodaje mientras espera que le llegue la oportunidad mundialista como aspirante obligatorio IBF del peso medio.

Swedish heavyweight Otto Wallin won by unanimous decision his tune-up against American Rydell Booker, while Uzbek super lightweight Shohjahon Ergashev knocked down the Argentinan Luis Veron twice before also obtaining a unanimous decision, so both are ready for decisive fights in the last third of the year. As for the South African super featherweight championship, titleholder Sibusiso Zingange 17(4KO)-6(3)-2 lost his title due to a shoulder injury that prevented him from continuing in the tenth round of his fight against challenger Lunga Sitemela. 14(7KO)-1. In any case, Enríquez will need, above all, adequate promotional support so that the she does not end as in her last phase at light flyweight, in which she spent more than three years as WBC interim titleholder without gaining access to the fight for the full belt.

Finally, Brazilian Esquiva Falcao 30(20KO)-0 won by unanimous decision of the judges his clash against the Argentinian Cristian Fabián Ríos 23(7KO)-15(1)-3, avoiding inactivity while waiting for the world championship opportunity as a mandatory IBF middleweight challenger.
