Oganes Ustyan mostró astucia y habilidad en victoria sobre voluntarioso Radik Grigoryan

A pesar de que el enfrentamiento entre Voytsekhovsky y Gasanov estaba programado como el estelar de la velada rusa de la pasada noche, finalmente la pelea que cerró la velada fue un combate flotante entre el joven ruso-georgiano Oganes Ustyan 9(3KO)-0 y el armenio Radik Grigoryan 10(3KO)-2-1. Este choque fue vencido por Ustyan a través de una merecida decisión unánime.
Inicialmente el combate se desordenó bastante entre el decidido avance del zurdo Grigoryan y la respuesta del diestro Ustyan, aunque quizás el primero tuvo entonces más éxito por su cadencia de golpeo y su insistencia, enrojeciendo incluso el rostro de su rival. No obstante, Ustyan es un boxeador preciso y hábil, por lo que, a base de buen timing y astucia, impactó en los cruces en corta certeros golpes de poder, con los que empezó a remontar y llegó a estremecer a su contrincante en el tercer round.
Como Grigoryan es muy bravo, éste siguió cargando al ataque durante el primer minuto de los posteriores asaltos, pero en el restante tiempo de episodio Ustyan conectó directos diestros, uppercuts arriba y ganchos abajo con los que terminó imponiéndose de forma cada vez más clara. Es más, aunque no es un gran pegador, Ustyan terminó amenazando con causar daños decisivos con sus muy certeros puños, que sacudían llamativamente a Grigoryan. Con todo, el armenio siguió en la pelea hasta el final resistiendo en el centro del ring los fuertes golpes recibidos y lanzando andanadas de curvos con más voluntad que precisión.
Este sólo fue el segundo combate a ocho asaltos de Ustyan y el boxeador de 23 años necesita mucho trabajo para pulir varios aspectos de su boxeo, entre ellos su defensa. Aun así, y aunque no está arrollando en su avance como por ejemplo el también peso superligero Khariton Agrba, Ustyan es un buen prospecto con una destreza innata para encontrar huecos, por lo que será interesante verle evolucionar y comprobar hasta dónde puede llegar.

Despite the the bout Voytsekhovsky-Gasanov was scheduled as the main event of last night’s evening, finally the fight that closed the card was a match between the young Russian-Georgian Oganes Ustyan 9(3KO)-0 and the Armenian Radik Grigoryan 10(3KO)-2-1. This clash was won by Ustyan through a deserved unanimous decision.
Initially the fight was messy, clashing the determined advance of the southpaw Grigoryan and the answer of the orthodox Ustyan, although perhaps the former was then more successful due to his punching rate and his insistence, even reddening his rival’s face. However, Ustyan is a precise and skillful boxer so, relying on good timing and astuteness, he landed accurate power shots in the exchanges at close range, punches with which he began to rally and even shook his opponent in the third round.
As Grigoryan is very brave, he continued to charge during the first minute of the subsequent rounds, but in the remaining time of the episode Ustyan landed straight right hands, uppercuts and hooks down with which he ended up imposing his boxing more and more clearly. Moreover, although he is not a great puncher, Ustyan ended up threatening to cause decisive damage with his very precise shots, which rocked Grigoryan repeatedly. However, the Armenian continued in the fight until the end, resisting the strong blows received in the center of the ring and throwing combinations of hooks with more will than precision.
This was only Ustyan’s second eight-round fight and the 23-year-old fighter still needs a lot of work to improve various aspects of his boxing, including his defense. However, and while he’s not steamrolling in his advance in the professional ranks like, for example, the super lightweight Khariton Agrba, Ustyan is a good prospect with an innate ability for finding holes in his rival’s defense, so it will be interesting to see him evolve and see how far he can go.
