Yokasta Valle retuvo por quinta vez su cinturón mundial IBF del peso mínimo ante Lorraine Villalobos

Para todo boxeador extranjero es un hito importante debutar en Estados Unidos, algo que la pasada noche hizo la costarricense Yokasta Valle 25(9KO)-2 ante la local Lorraine Villalobos 5(2KO)-4(1). En este enfrentamiento, parte del respaldo del Munguía-Kelly, Valle mostró su capacidad ofensiva derrotando a una Villalobos tenaz pero que no pudo lidiar con el fiero trabajo de la monarca mundial. Las puntuaciones de los jueces fueron de triple 100-90
La pelea tuvo repetidos momentos en los que se embarró visiblemente entre las agresivas entradas de Valle y una respuesta no demasiado ordenada de Villalobos. Aun así, hubieron cruces de golpes de considerable intensidad en los que ambas se alcanzaron con curvos de mano adelantada. En cualquier caso, en líneas generales la púgil más exitosa fue la costarricense, que conectó nítidos derechazos y ganchos de mano adelantada que sacudieron la cabeza de Villalobos.
Aunque siguieron produciéndose algunos encontronazos que acabaron en enredados clinches, Valle fue ajustando mejor la distancia y desplegando su boxeo de forma más eficaz, llegando con buenas manos sin encimarse tanto y efectuando alguna adecuada acción defensiva, especialmente pasos atrás. Así, su dominio se expandió y Villalobos pasó cada vez por mayores problemas, siendo hostigada por peligrosas andanadas de rectos y curvos de espaldas a las cuerdas.
No obstante, pese a tener limitada experiencia y una clara desventaja en dimensiones, la brava Villalobos aguantó el fortísimo castigo, entró en clinch, se desplazó e hizo lo que pudo contestando con su gancho zurdo a la contra hasta llegar a la decisión de los jueces.
Teniendo en cuenta que la campeona IBF del peso mínimo Valle participó ayer en una velada de Golden Boy Promotions, parece evidente que dicha promotora tiene en sus miras una unificación de cinturones entre esta boxeadora y la púgil de la compañía Seniesa Estrada, titular mundial WBA. Dicho eventual enfrentamiento, uno de los más significativos posibles en la división actualmente, sería muy entretenido y estaría lleno de acción, sirviendo además para elegir a una clara número 1 en las 105 lb.

For every foreign boxer it is an important milestone to debut in the United States, something that the Costa Rican Yokasta Valle 25(9KO)-2 did last night against local Lorraine Villalobos 5(2KO)-4(1). In this bout, part of the support of the Munguía-Kelly event, Valle showed her great offensive capacity punishing and defeating Villalobos, a tenacious boxer that could not deal with the fierce work of the titlist. The judges scorecards were of triple 100-90.
The fight had repeated moments where it got entangled between Valle’s aggressive charges and a response from Villalobos that lacked order. Even so, there were exchanges of considerable intensity in which both were hit by clear lead hooks. In any case, in general terms the most successful boxer was the Costa Rican, who landed precise right hands and left hooks that shook Villalobos’s head.
Although there were still some clashes that ended in clinches, as the rounds passed Valle adjusted better the distance and deployed her boxing more effectively, connecting good hands without getting too close to her rival and doing some adequate defensive actions, especially steps back. Thus, her control of the fight expanded and Villalobos went through more and more difficulties, being attacked by dangerous barrages of straight punches and hooks with her back to the ropes.
However, despite having limited experience and a clear disadvantage in dimensions, the brave Villalobos withstood the harsh punishment, clinched, moved and did what she could answering with her counter left hook until she reached the decision of the judges.
Taking into account that the IBF minimumweight champion Valle participated yesterday in a Golden Boy Promotions card, it seems evident that the plan is a unification between the Costa Rican and the company’s boxer Seniesa Estrada, WBA world titleholder. An eventual confrontation between these fighters, one of the most significant possible bouts in the division at the moment, would be very entertaining and full of action, serving also to choose a clear number 1 in the 105 lb.
