“Lacandoncito” Cruz venció en el primer asalto a Pablo Robles (Vídeo oficial de la velada)

Teniendo en cuenta que ambos son boxeadores zurdos, jóvenes y que necesitaban una victoria en este combate para tratar de impulsar sus carreras, el duelo entre los mexicanos Cristian “Lacandoncito” Cruz 20(10KO)-6 y Pablo “Diamante” Robles 15(10KO)-4(3) parecía un choque bien emparejado. No obstante, el choque terminó decantándose muy rápidamente a favor de Cruz, que logró el triunfo en el primer asalto.
Tras un brevísimo tanteo, Robles intentó pasar al ataque, poniendo a su contrincante en las cuerdas, pero Cruz sacó un cruzado diestro y una rápida combinación terminada en curvo zurdo con la que dio la vuelta a la situación. Y es que, con Robles ahora en el ensogado, Cruz impactó un potente gancho de derecha, rematado con un hook de mano zurda, que hizo que su oponente se derrumbase aparatosamente. Con dificultad, Robles logró continuar e intentó responder, pero Cruz lanzó una ofensiva con series de golpes con la que llevó al árbitro a parar el combate.
La detención pareció algo precipitada, si bien es verdad que antes de ella Robles se desequilibró un poco y que el árbitro estaba en mejor posición que la cámara para ver el rostro del púgil. En cualquier caso, el resultado es ya definitivo, y Cruz merece crédito por haber puesto las bases para su victoria con una respuesta tan precisa, calmada y determinante bajo presión, obteniendo un triunfo que le permitirá recuperarse del paso atrás dado en su ajustadísima derrota ante José Olmeda y poniendo sus miras en una nueva pelea ante un rival con aspiraciones del circuito mexicano.

Taking into account that they are both young, southpaw boxers and that they needed a victory in this fight to try to boost their careers, the duel between the Mexicans Cristian “Lacandoncito” Cruz 20(10KO)-6 and Pablo “Diamante” Robles 15(10KO) )-4(3) looked like a well matched clash. However, the fight ended very quickly in favor of Cruz, who scored a first round victory.
After a very brief testing by both fighters, Robles tried to go on the attack, putting his opponent on the ropes, but Cruz landed a right hook and a fast combination ended with a left hook that turned the situation around. With Robles now cornered, Cruz connected a powerful right hook, linked with a left hook, which dropped his opponent spectacularly. Despite this, Robles managed to continue and tried to respond, but Cruz thew an offensive that, through a series of punches, led the referee to stop the fight.
The stoppage seemed somewhat hasty, although it is true that Robles lost his balance a bit before it and that the referee was in a better position than the camera to see the fighter’s face. In any case, the result is now definitive, and Cruz deserves credit for having laid the foundations for his triumph with such a precise, calm and decisive response under pressure, obtaining a victory that will allow him to recover from the step backwards he took in his very close loss to José Olmeda and setting his sights on a new fight against an opponent with aspirations from the Mexican scene.
