Victorias de Chirkov, Savitsky, Yunovidov y Ochkin en el arranque de la velada Abdullaev-Straffon

La velada Abdullaev-Straffon ha dejado en sus cuatro combates iniciales victorias de los favoritos, siendo uno de ellos el peso pluma ruso Ivan Chirkov 9(1KO)-0. Éste obtuvo su primera victoria antes del límite con un abandono en el tercer round sobre Pavel Gunchenko 2(0KO)-1(1).
Moviéndose y contragolpeando con uppercuts y ganchos de mano adelantada, el púgil de buena carrera amateur Gunchenko tuvo resultados positivos, pero Chirkov se mantuvo firme en su presión y conectó potentes directos diestros y hooks al torso sobre su zurdo rival. Con el paso de los minutos Chirkov fue a más e impactó duras combinaciones de curvos hasta que obligó a Gunchenko a abandonar tras el tercer asalto.
También sumó un nuevo éxito a su récord el peso crucero ruso Denis Savitsky 5(3KO)-0-1, que batió por decisión a su compatriota Igor Vilchitsky 6(1KO)-5(4) en una trabajada pelea.
Inicialmente Savitsky tuvo problemas tácticos ante el jab y la derecha recta a la contra de Vilchitsky, pero aunque recibió golpes claros, poco a poco el trabajo del invicto fue superando los directos de su oponente. Vilchitsky, que no tiene un buen encaje, en el cuarto round cayó por un gancho al torso, aunque Savitsky tenía una seria hemorragia nasal y una inflamación en el ojo derecho y terminó estando incluso más desgastado. Por ello, la pelea se mantuvo disputada y a duras penas Savitsky pudo decantarla de su lado con algunas acertadas combinaciones en los últimos rounds.
Este combate fue precedido por un nuevo triunfo del prospecto ruso del peso pesado Georgy Yunovidov 6(3KO)-0, que esta vez derrotó al bielorruso Viktor Chvarkov 2(0KO)-9(1) por decisión unánime.
Aunque Chvarkov tiró algunas combinaciones de curvos en el primer tramo y ambos se encimaron, dificultando el progreso ofensivo, Yunovidov hizo valer su precisión a través de jabs, uno-dos, ganchos zurdos arriba y abajo y cruzados diestros para conectar los mejores golpes y llevarse los rounds. De ese modo, aunque la pelea no fue espectacular ni su actuación brillante, Yunovidov terminó haciéndose con una victoria amplia ante un rival que tiene como su mayor cualidad su resistencia.
La velada se inició con la victoria del peso medio kazajo Ilya Ochkin 8(3KO)-2(1) sobre el ruso Andrey Tomashchuk 4(2KO)-18(4) por decisión de los jueces.
A pesar de la diferencia en récord de los boxeadores, el duelo fue duro, igualado y disputado, ofreciendo ambos muchos intensos intercambios de golpes de poder en la distancia media y corta en los que los dos fueron sacudidos. Así, sólo por un manejo del jab algo más sólido y constante y por una mejor ejecución técnica en el golpeo, Ochkin logró ajustadamente la decisión de los jueces.

The evening Abdullaev-Straffon has started with four fights ended with victories of the favorites, one of them being the Russian featherweight Ivan Chirkov 9(1KO)-0. He obtained his first stoppage victory with a TKO in three rounds over Pavel Gunchenko 2(0KO)-1(1).
Moving and counter-punching with uppercuts and lead hooks, the boxer with good career amateur Gunchenko had positive results, but Chirkov stood firm on his pressure and landed hard right hands and hooks to the body of his southpaw opponent. As the minutes went by, Chirkov increased his aggressiveness and connected combinations of hooks, which forced Gunchenko to quit after the third round.
Russian cruiserweight Denis Savitsky 5(3KO)-0-1 also added a new success to his record, since he beat his compatriot Igor Vilchitsky 6(1KO)-5(4) by decision in a demanding bout.
Initially Savitsky had tactical problems against Vilchitsky’s jab and counter right hand, but although he received clear shots, little by little the work from the unbeaten overcame his opponent’s straight punches. Vilchitsky, who doesn’t have good resistance, went down by a hook to the body in the fourth round, though Savitsky had a serious nosebleed and a swollen right eye and ended up even more worn out. Therefore, the fight remained contested and with great difficulty Savitsky was able to end up winning it with some accurate combinations in the last rounds.
This fight was preceded by a new triumph of Russian heavyweight Georgy Yunovidov 6(3KO)-0, who this time defeated Belarusian Viktor Chvarkov 2(0KO)-9(1) by unanimous decision.
Although Chvarkov threw some combinations of hooks in the first stretch and both got too close to his opponent, reducing their offensive success, Yunovidov imposed his precision through jabs, one-twos, left hooks up and down and right overhands to land the best punches and win the rounds. In this way, although the fight was not spectacular nor was his performance brilliant, Yunovidov ended up achieving a wide points victory over an opponent whose greatest quality is his punch resistance.
The evening began with the decision victory of the Kazakh middleweight Ilya Ochkin 8(3KO)-2(1) over the Russian Andrey Tomashchuk 4(2KO)-18(4).
Despite the difference in record between the fighters, the duel was tough and even, both offering many intense exchanges of power shots in the middle and short distance in which both were rocked. Thus, only due to of a somewhat more solid and constant jab and a better punching technique, Ochkin narrowly obtained the judges’ decision.
