Breve: Ryan García decide finalmente no afrontar rodaje contra Mercito Gesta antes de pugna ante Gervonta Davis

Estaba previsto que Ryan García afrontase un combate de rodaje ante Mercito Gesta a finales del mes de enero como preparación para su posterior pugna ante Gervonta Davis, pero estos planes finalmente han sido cancelados. El propio García lo hizo público a través de su cuenta de Twitter, algo que posteriormente Golden Boy Promotions confirmó también. En el tweet, García dijo:
“He estado pensando en ello mientras estaban dándole vueltas a este combate y siento que los fans y todo el mundo que apoya al boxeo ya han visto estos rodajes. Es hora de que les demos a los fans lo que quieren. Además, él [Davis] pidió el rodaje, no yo, así que dejémosle que se ocupe de sus asuntos. Vamos”.

Ryan Garcia was supposed to face a tune-up bout against Mercito Gesta at the end of January in preparation for his subsequent fight against Gervonta Davis, but these plans have finally been cancelled. García himself made it public through his Twitter account, something that Golden Boy Promotions later confirmed as well. In the tweet, Garcia said:
