Joe Joyce y Tim Tszyu arriesgarán sus oportunidades mundiales ante Zhilei Zhang y Tony Harrison respectivamente

En una era en la que abundan los boxedores que quieren hacer lo mínimo posible para alcanzar el mundial más fácil y los campeones que evitan los riesgos sin disimulo, resulta tremendamente positivo ver que hay boxeadores que están dispuestos a afrontar tantos retos como hagan falta, e incluso los que no hagan falta, para demostrar que están listos y quieren combatir ante la élite de sus divisiones.
Este es el caso del peso pesado Joe Joyce y del peso superwélter Tim Tszyu, quienes pese a ser ambos aspirantes obligatorios WBO de campeones unificados, no piensan permanecer de brazos cruzados esperando sus primeros combates mundialistas, estando emplazados ambos a afrontar serios retos que ellos mismos han perseguido intentando mostrar aún más sus valías.
En el caso de Joyce, éste se enfrentará el día 15 de abril en Londres al potente chino Zhilei Zhang, que viene de ofrecer una muy difícil pelea a uno de los mayores prospectos de la categoría como el invicto Filip Hrgović, que incluso quedó tocado en el combate. Esto sería motivo suficiente para que muchos evitasen enfrentarse al plata olímpico Zhang, pero Joyce, aunque sólo necesitaría esperar hasta alcanzar una pelea mundialista ante Usyk, se medirá a este pesado y peligroso pegador como si fuese sólo un rodaje.
Respecto a Tszyu, si bien muchos han criticado su boxeo y han asegurado que se está beneficiando demasiado de su apellido, el hecho es que tampoco tenía ninguna obligación, tras el enésimo aplazamiento de su choque contra el campeón indiscutido superwélter Jermell Charlo (por supuesta lesión), de enfrentarse a un oponente como el excampeón mundial Tony Harrison, con el que peleará en Australia el 12 de marzo.
En su último combate el hábil Harrison derrotó ampliamente a Sergio García (que venía de ofrecer una gran batalla ante Sebastián Fundora), mientras que también cuenta en su récord con un triunfo por decisión ante el propio Charlo (si bien controvertido), por lo que si Tszyu lograse una contundente victoria sobre él sin duda haría una importante declaración de intenciones.
Así, dos agresivos boxeadores que están generando mucha expectación de cara a sus primeros mundiales ofrecerán a los aficionados dos interesantes choques que podrían haber evitado sin que se les reprochase absolutamente nada. Mientras, hay campeones mundiales y aspirantes en múltiples divisiones que harían todo lo posible para no afrontar los retos que estos encararán…

In an era in which there are many boxers who want to do as little as possible to reach easy world championships and titleholders who blatantly avoid risks, it is tremendously positive to see that there are boxers who are willing to face as many challenges as necessary, and even those that are not necessary, to show that they are ready and want to fight against the elite of their divisions.
This is the case of heavyweight Joe Joyce and super welterweight Tim Tszyu, who despite being both WBO mandatory challengers for unified champions, do not intend to sit idly waiting for their first title bouts. On the contrary, both are set to face serious challenges that they have pursued trying to show their worth even more.
In Joyce’s case, he will face the powerful Chinese Zhilei Zhang on April 15 in London. Zhang is coming from offering a very difficult fight to one of the bests prospects in the division such as the undefeated Filip Hrgović, who was even hurt in the bout. This would be reason enough for many to avoid facing the Olympic silver medalist Zhang, but Joyce, although he would only need to wait until reaching a fight against Usyk, will take on this heavy and dangerous puncher as if he were just a tune-up opponent.
Regarding Tszyu, although many have criticized his boxing and have assured that he is benefiting too much from his last name, the fact is that he did not have any obligation either, after the umpteenth postponement of his clash against the undisputed super welterweight champion Jermell Charlo (due to an alleged injury ), to face an opponent like former world champion Tony Harrison, whom he will battle in Australia on March 12.
In his last outing, the skilful Harrison defeated Sergio García (who had just offered a great battle against Sebastián Fundora), while he also has in his record a decision victory over Charlo (although controversial). So if Tszyu scores a resounding victory over Harrison, he would certainly make a big statement.
Thus, two aggressive boxers who are generating a lot of expectation regarding their first world title fights will offer fans two interesting clashes that they could have avoided without receiving reproaches.
