El peso pesado, bronce mundial amateur, Justis Huni ficha por Matchroom Boxing

En sus siete combates como profesional el joven peso pesado australiano Justis Huni 7(4KO)-0 ha generado notable expectación en su país, hasta tal punto que Matchroom Boxing ha puesto sus ojos en él y ha decidido ficharlo. Huni, que fue bronce mundial amateur y oro mundial juvenil, sólo tiene 23 años, por lo que se considera que, cualquier brecha que tenga en su boxeo, tiene tanto el margen de tiempo como el potencial para repararla.
Por otro lado, Huni está ya ranqueado como 14º WBO, de modo que necesita pasos adelante y peleas de desarrollo y adquisición de experiencia contra rivales más allá del circuito de su país que Matchroom Boxing sin duda puede conseguirle.
En el anuncio oficial de este fichaje Huni simplemente señaló:
“Estoy extremadamente orgulloso de anunciar que he firmado con el principal promotor del mundo. Muchas gracias a Mick y Fran de Tasman Fighters. ¡Vamos a por ello!”
En cuanto a Eddie Hearn, que el año pasado inició la expansión de su empresa en Australia, afirmó que piensa hacer que Huni muestre sus habilidades internacionalmente:
“Estoy entusiasmado por dar la bienvenida a Justis Huni al equipo Matchroom Boxing. Justis ya se ha convertido en uno de los nombres más importantes en el boxeo australiano y está clasificado en el top 15, pero ahora esperamos hacerle boxear alrededor del mundo y llevarle a una oportunidad por el título mundial del peso pesado. Este fichaje también continúa reforzando nuestra escuadra de australianos, con más incorporaciones esperadas en los próximos meses, esperamos nuestro regreso a este importante mercado en la primera mitad de 2023”.

In his seven professional bouts, the young Australian heavyweight Justis Huni 7(4KO)-0 has generated notable expectation in his country, to such an extent that Matchroom Boxing has set its sights on him and has decided to sign him. Huni, who was world amateur bronze medalist and youth world gold medalist, is only 23 years old, so it is considered that any flaw he has in his boxing, he has both the time and the potential to repair it.
On the other hand, Huni is already ranked as WBO number 14, so he needs to face step ups and development fights to gain experience against opponents from outside his country, something Matchroom Boxing can certainly give him.
In the official announcement of this signing, Huni simply stated:

As for Eddie Hearn, who started the expansion of his company to Australia last year, he said he plans to showcase Huni’s skills internationally:
