A los aficionados japoneses ansiosos por ver un cruce Ioka-Nakatani que finalmente no se producirá, al menos les queda un consuelo: que ha sido confirmado oficialmente que el día 8 de abril en el Ariake Arena de Tokyo, Japón, se desarrollará una excelente velada de Teiken Promotions que quizás termine siendo la mayor del año en el país. Es decir, posiblemente se organicen otros buenos eventos con campeonatos mundiales pero, teniendo en cuenta que las veladas de fin de año ya no son tan enormes como en el pasado reciente, será difícil que se iguale su nivel medio.
Empezando por el combate estelar, este será una triple unificación de los cinturones mundiales WBA, WBC y WBO del peso minimosca entre el número 1 de la categoría Kenshiro Teraji y el puertorriqueño Jonathan González, encuentro que debería ser un intenso e interesante duelo táctico entre los excelentes directos del primero y el juego de piernas del segundo.
Este no será el único campeonato mundial de la velada, puesto que Takuma Inoue combatirá por uno de los cuatro cinturones mundiales del peso gallo dejados vacantes por su hermano Naoya. En concreto tratará de conquistar el cinto WBA ante el venezolano, excampeón mundial unificado, Liborio Solís, cuya única derrota reciente llegó por decisión dividida ante Guillermo Rigondeaux.
Además, el enrachado campeón nacional japonés Reiya Abe y el excampeón mundial español Kiko Martínez se verán las caras en una eliminatoria final IBF del peso pluma de la que saldrá el primer aspirante obligatorio del monarca mexicano Luis Alberto “Venado” López.
Finalmente, el evento ofrecerá también un choque del peso wélter seguramente emocionante y que terminará por knockout entre dos grandes pegadores como el joven Jin Sasaki y el veterano exretador mundial Keita Obara y el debut en el boxeo profesional del kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa peleando en el peso supergallo contra Yuki Yonaha.
Así, el hecho es que no sólo podría ser el evento del año en Japón, sino uno de los más interesantes en general de la temporada mundial, ya que la mayoría de carteleras de las grandes promotoras durante el último año (incluidas muchas en PPV) no han tenido un nivel medio semejante, estando compañías como Matchroom y PBC centradas en contener gastos con muchos respaldos con niveles entre lo decepcionante y lo mínimamente aceptable.
