Toda la determinación que le falta al campeón Jermell Charlo, le sobra a su aspirante Tim Tszyu. Y es que mientras el primero parece querer evitar el combate, o al menos aplazarlo todo lo posible, el segundo está dispuesto a seguir adelante con sus pugnas de preparación para el mundial incluso aunque la situación lo desaconseje.
Esto ha quedado claro en las últimas horas, ya que se ha dado a conocer que el titular interino WBO del peso superwélter Tszyu ha tenido que ser sometido a cirugía tras ser mordido en el antebrazo derecho por el perro de un amigo. Sin embargo, aunque lesiones mucho más leves han llevado a aplazamientos de pugnas, incluso cuando había tiempo de sobra para la recuperación, Tszyu piensa seguir adelante con su combate del 18 de junio ante el mexicano Carlos Ocampo.
Evidentemente, habrá que esperar a ver cómo evoluciona la herida antes de dar por sentado que Tszyu podrá pugnar en la citada fecha, pero los médicos y su equipo son optimistas respecto a que la pelea se podrá llevar a cabo con normalidad y a día de hoy el evento sigue en pie. Sin duda, esta historia ha puesto de manifiesto nuevamente la gran actitud de un Tszyu que quiere demostrar a toda costa que los retos no le amedrentan y que nada le parará en su campaña para coronarse campeón mundial.

All the determination that champion Jermell Charlo lacks, his challenger Tim Tszyu has plenty of. While the former seems to want to avoid the fight, or at least postpone it as much as possible, the latter is willing to continue with his preparation for the world title bout even if the situation is far from optimal.
This has become clear in recent hours, as it has been reported that WBO interim super welterweight titleholder Tszyu has had to undergo surgery after being bitten on the right forearm by a friend’s dog. However, while much lesser injuries have led to postponements of bouts, even when there was enough time for recovery, Tszyu plans to go ahead with his June 18 bout against Mexican Carlos Ocampo.
Obviously, everybody will have to wait and see how the injury evolves before assuming that Tszyu will be able to fight on that date, but the doctors and his team are optimistic that the fight will take place and the event is still on. Undoubtedly, this story has once again shown the great attitude of Tszyu, who wants to demonstrate at all costs that challenges do not intimidate him and that nothing will stop him in his quest to become world champion.
