El evento más relevante del viernes será el organizado por Matchroom Boxing, y emitido por DAZN, desde el Cintermex de Monterrey, México. En el combate estelar, el prospecto del peso supermedio Diego Pacheco 18(15KO)-0, 3º WBO, 11º WBA y 12º WBC, afrontará su mayor test hasta la fecha ante el mexicano Manuel “El Meno” Gallegos 19(16KO)-1-1. Gallegos es joven y fuerte, tiene dimensiones similares a las suyas (además de un buen porcentaje de knockouts) y posee aspiraciones internacionales, si bien Pacheco parece tener ventajas decisivas en talento, fluidez en las combinaciones y rapidez y, por lo tanto, será claro favorito para vencer esta pugna de desarrollo.
En el respaldo, los peso supermosca Jonathan “Titán” Rodríguez 24(16KO)-2 e Israel “Jiga” González 28(11KO)-5(1)-1 se enfrentarán en un bien emparejado, interesante y potencialmente entretenido choque entre competentes exretadores mundiales, y el temible noqueador del peso superpluma Eduardo “Rocky” Hernández 33(30KO)-1(1), número 1 WBC, aguardará una oportunidad mundialista en un teóricamente sencillo rodaje ante el venezolano Joniker Tovar 21(16KO)-0-1.
El viernes también se puede hacer mención de otros dos eventos. Uno de ellos se producirá en el Gimnasio Municipal Enrique Mosconi de Cutral Có, Argentina, televisado por TyC Sports, y contará con dos campeonatos de Argentina. En uno, el campeón argentino del peso superligero Axel Emanuel Isla 8(1KO)-2 afrontará su primera defensa ante el excampeón de Sudamérica Agustín Ezequiel Quintana 18(13KO)-2(1)-1 y en otro Lucas Bastida 19(11KO)-3(1)-1 y Diego Fabián Martínez 9(3KO)-3(3) combatirán por el vacante cinturón de Argentina del peso superwélter.
Por otro lado, en el Town Hall de Malvern, Australia, el prospecto ruso del peso ligero Alexander Devyatov 14(13KO)-0 pondrá fin a un año de inactividad en un fácil rodaje ante el tailandés Phatiphan Krungklang 15(8KO)-5(4)-1 y los peso supermedio australianos Jack Bowen 7(7KO)-1(1) y Francis Waitai 7(1KO)-2 se medirán en un bien emparejado encuentro entre un púgil que viene de su primera derrota y otro que nunca ha perdido por amplia diferencia.
Sábado 8 de julio
El sábado se subirán al ring tres de las mayores promesas del peso wélter. Dos de ellos compartirán un mismo ring, ya que en el AT&T Center de San Antonio, Estados Unidos, emitido por DAZN, el estadounidense Vergil Ortiz 19(19KO)-0 y el lituano Eimantas Stanionis 14(9KO)-0 se enfrentarán en un decisivo choque entre prospectos convertidos en contendientes que debería asegurarle el acceso al mundial al vencedor.
Dado que ambos son muy potentes, están invictos, tienen la moral altísima y son muy agresivos, este debería ser un tremendo cruce. De todos modos, Ortiz, que tiene mucha más capacidad de definición, que tiene una sospechosasamente persistente rabdomiólisis (enfermedad asociada al dopaje) y que es mucho más insistente al ataque, es claro favorito para vencer peleando como local contra un Stanionis que, dijesen lo que dijesen los sesgados comentaristas y jueces, tuvo muchas dificultades ante el ruso Radzhab Butaev.
En el respaldo, la favorecida por los jueces Marlen Esparza 13(1KO)-1 buscará unificar tres cinturones del peso mosca ante la argentina Gabriela Alaniz 14(6KO)-0, mientras que los peso ligero Joseph Díaz 32(15KO)-4-1 y Floyd Schofield 14(11KO)-0 afrontarán peleas a medida ante Jerry Pérez 14(11KO)-2(1)-1 y Haskell Rhodes 28(13KO)-4(1)-1, respectivamente.
En cuanto al otro insigne prospecto del peso wélter, éste es el estadounidense Jaron Ennis 30(27KO)-0, que encabezará una velada de PBC y Showtime desde The Ballroom en el Boardwalk Hall de Atlantic City, Estados Unidos. De todos modos, a diferencia de Ortiz y Stanionis, Ennis no afrontará una prueba de fuego ante una promesa del máximo calibre, sino que se medirá al agresivo pero limitado Roimán Villa 26(24KO)-1, que pese a sus dos victorias sobre invictos en Estados Unidos, con su avance frontal debería dar muchas facilidades al contragolpe para el talentoso invicto.
Respecto al acompañamiento del Ennis-Villa, el potente pero simple peso medio cubano Yoelvis Gómez 6(5KO)-0 afrontará su mayor prueba ante un boxeador muy capaz, pero carente de pegada, como el estadounidense Marquis Taylor 14(1KO)-1-2, y el domincano Edwin de los Santos 15(14KO)-1 buscará mantener el impulso tras su triunfo ante José Valenzuela peleando en el peso ligero contra el fogueado Joseph Adorno 17(14KO)-2-2.
Además de las carteleras arriba mencionadas habrá otros combates destacables. Por ejemplo, en Managua, Nicaragua, el prospecto estadounidense del peso superligero Ernesto Mercado 10(10KO)-0 buscará realizar comparaciones con Devin Haney enfrentándose al sudafricano Xolisani Ndongeni 31(18KO)-2(1), que llegó a la última campana ante éste; en Metepec, México, el excampeón mundial Luis “Pantera” Nery 34(26KO)-1(1) disputará un rodaje, mientras espera un mundial en el peso supergallo, combatiendo contra el filipino Froilan Saludar 33(23KO)-6(3)-1; y en el Arena Unifacisa de Campina Grande, Brasil, el exmonarca mundial superwélter Patrick Teixeira 32(23KO)-4(1) intentará sumar su segundo triunfo consecutivo combatiendo contra el argentino Brian Chaves 14(5KO)-3(3).
Finalmente, también se puede destacar un evento que se producirá en el Hotel Terminal de Breslavia, Polonia, emitido por TVP Sport, en el que el enrachado peso medio Karol Welter 13(3KO)-1 afrontará su tercer combate consecutivo ante un invicto enfrentándose al letón Kristaps Bulmeistars 11(5KO)-0. En el mismo cartel, el imbatido en 30 combates Kamil Laszczyk 30(11KO)-0 buscará seguir inflando su récord ante el eslovaco Martin Parlagi 29(15KO)-5(2)-2 y el peso superwélter Przemyslaw Runowski 20(5KO)-2 pondrá fin a catorce meses de inactividad ante un boxeador con irregulares actuaciones como Vladyslav Gela 13(8KO)-5(3).
El sábado también tendrán lugar estos otros combates:
-En el Sadlon Arena de Barrie, Canadá, el peso wélter local Josh Wagner 15(8KO)-0 disputará su tercer combate pactado a diez rounds ante el argentino Williams Andrés Herrera 15(6KO)-1.
-En el Esforta Arena Hachioji de Hachioji, Japón, el campeón de Japón del peso mínimo Yuni Takada 11(6KO)-8(4)-3 afrontará su primera defensa ante un boxeador con gran experiencia de calidad como Tatsuro Nakashima 11(7KO)-4(3)-1.
-En el Mountbatten Centre de Portsmouth, Reino Unido, el campeón de Inglaterra del peso superligero Lucas Ballingall 16(4KO)-2 disputará su primer combate de 2023, y su primera defensa, ante el imbatido Billy Pickles 13(1KO)-0.
-En el Light Waves Leisure Centre de Wakefield, Reino Unido, el titular inglés del peso supergallo Zahid Hussain 17(2KO)-2(1) expondrá su corona ante Andre Grant 10(2KO)-1.

Friday, July 7
The most relevant card on Friday will be the one organized by Matchroom Boxing, and broadcast by DAZN, from the Cintermex in Monterrey, Mexico. In the main event, super middleweight prospect Diego Pacheco 18(15KO)-0, WBO No. 3, WBA No. 11 and WBC No. 12, will face his biggest test to date against Mexican Manuel «El Meno» Gallegos 19(16KO)-1-1. Gallegos is young and strong, has similar size to his (as well as a good knockout ratio) and has international aspirations, although Pacheco seems to have decisive advantages in talent, speed and fluidity in the use of combinations and, therefore, he will be clear favorite to win this development fight.
On the undercard, super flyweights Jonathan “Titán” Rodríguez 24(16KO)-2 and Israel “Jiga” González 28(11KO)-5(1)-1 will meet in a well matched, interesting and potentially entertaining clash between competent former world title challengers, and fearsome super featherweight knockout artist Eduardo “Rocky” Hernández 33(30KO)-1(1), WBC number 1, will await a world title opportunity in a theoretically easy stay-busy bout against Venezuelan Joniker Tovar 21(16KO)-0-1.
Two other events remain to be mentioned in this day. On Saturday three of the best welterweight prospects will step into the ring. Two of them will clash against each other, since at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, United States, broadcast by DAZN, American Vergil Ortiz 19(19KO)-0 and Lithuanian Eimantas Stanionis 14(9KO)-0 will battle in a decisive clash between promising boxers turned contenders that should ensure a world title fight for the winner.
Since they are both very powerful, undefeated, have a very high morale and are very aggressive, this should be a tremendous bout.
