Los mejores combates del fin de semana (21-22/1/2022)

Normalmente las temporadas van aumentado su intensidad de forma gradual semana a semana, por ejemplo con una concentración cada vez mayor de combates en los sábados que después se traslada a otros días. Esto se comenzará a apreciar en la próxima semana, que contará con un sábado ajetreado, pero por el momento la actividad todavía será en líneas generales limitada.
Viernes 21 de enero
Como ejemplo encontramos un viernes que, aunque podrían llegar a incluirse uno o dos combates más, realmente tiene como único evento destacable el que se producirá en el Club de Ajedrez de La Calera, Argentina, emitido por TyC Sports. En esta velada se desarrollará, como combate estelar, un campeonato por el título sudamericano del peso pluma entre los zurdos argentinos Federico “El Zurdo” Pedraza 13(2KO)-0-1 y Mayco “Pumita” Estadella 9(3KO)-0-1. Este es un duelo muy bien emparejado y con todo el sentido para dar experiencia de calidad a dos jóvenes invictos, no habiendo ni mucho menos un abrumador favorito, aunque Pedraza pueda tener un pequeño margen a su favor. Sea como sea, y gane quien gane, más allá del resultado ambos deberían salir fortalecidos del cruce en cuanto a desarrollo se refiere.
En el respaldo disputará su segundo combate pactado a ocho asaltos el peso wélter Williams Herrera 10(3KO)-1, que se medirá a un Juan José Balmaceda 10(3KO)-3(2)-2 más de dos años inactivo y con dos derrotas antes del límite en sus dos últimos resultados.
Sábado 22 de enero
El combate más importante del fin de semana será, evidentemente, el mundial WBC del peso pluma que sostendrán el monarca Gary Russell Jr. y el retador obligatorio Mark Magsayo, quienes encabezarán una velada de Premier Boxing Champions emitida por Showtime.

En el respaldo retransmitido se producirá una muy interesante revancha del peso superligero entre el noqueador Subriel Matías y el astuto Petros Ananyan, así como un choque del peso pluma entre el plata olímpico Tugstsogt Nyambayar y Sakaria Lukas.

El otro evento más destacado de la jornada será el que Bild+ emitirá desde el Boxclub Home of Champions-Ka de Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen, Alemania, puesto que en esta velada combatirán un puñado de boxeadores ucranianos con aspiraciones. Uno de ellos es el joven 9º IBF del peso wélter Karen Chukhadzhian 19(9KO)-1, que tratará de llevar a 20 su cadena de victorias y escalar algún peldaño más en la lista venciendo al británico Ryan Martin 14(6KO)-2-1, quien ganó varios asaltos en su derrota contra el invicto Michael McKinson (próximo rival de Vergil Ortiz).
Además, el peso medio Andrii Velikovskyi 19(12KO)-2(1)-2 intentará alejarse de su empate ante José de Jesús Macías peleando contra el veterano dominicano Rafael Bejarán 29(12KO)-5(3)-1; el invicto supermedio Petro Ivanov 14(9KO)-0-2 pondrá a prueba su pegada, y se preparará para un importante test, pugnando contra la resistente piedra de toque Nuhu Lawal 27(15KO)-9(2); y el peso pesado Oleksandr “Hunter” Zakhozhyi 15(11KO)-0 buscará un nuevo knockout contra Pavel Sour 14(9KO)-6(5).
Mencionados estos enfrentamientos, quedan otros tres que destacar, siendo uno de ellos bastante interesante y los otros dos con claros favoritos.
El cruce mejor emparejado será el que tendrá lugar en el Halyk Arena de Aktau, Kazajistán, entre el 13º IBF del peso medio, el kazajo Meiirim Nursultanov 15(8KO)-0, y el 14º WBC de la misma división, el ruso Andrey Sirotkin 19(7KO)-1(1)-1. Además del buen posicionamiento que podría conseguir en las listas el ganador, esta será una prueba de fuego para el oro asiático y kazajo Nursultanov, que está avanzando de forma muy sólida como profesional (prácticamente no ha perdido asaltos) pero que se enfrentará este sábado a su mayor rival hasta la fecha, un Sirotkin con cualidades, con varias buenas actuaciones y que llega de empatar con controversia como visitante ante el 4º WBO británico Danny Dignum.
Por otro lado, en el Auditorio Zonkeys de Tijuana, México, televisado por Azteca 7, se enfrentarán el prospecto supergallo mexicano David “El Rey” Picasso 19(8KO)-0-1 y el peruano César “Zurdo” Paredes 15(5KO)-3(1)-1, pelea que finalmente no fue parte de la velada de la pasada semana en la misma sede y que encabezará una nueva cartelera de Zanfer Promotions. En ella Picasso, que está teniendo un muy buen rendimiento, será favorito ante un Paredes sin victorias relevantes pero que perdió dos veces por la mínima como visitante ante el exretador mundial José Velásquez, quien ofreció una brava actuación ante el monarca unificado Akhmadaliev.
En el restante encuentro, que se desarrollará en el Ford Community Center de Dearborn, Estados Unidos, el 10º WBC y 15º WBO del peso medio Hugo “The Boss” Centeno Jr. 28(15KO)-3(2)-1 tratará de sumar su segundo triunfo consecutivo y prepararse para una pelea significativa venciendo a un Antonio Todd 12(7KO)-5(2) con cierta experiencia de calidad.

Normally the seasons gradually increase their intensity week by week, for example with a concentration of clashes on Saturdays that then move to other days. This will begin to be appreciated in the coming week, which will have a busy Saturday, but for the moment the activity will still be generally limited.
Friday, January 21
As an example we find a Friday in which, although one or two more fights could be included, it really has as its only notable event the one that will occur at the Chess Club of La Calera, Argentina, broadcasted by TyC Sports. The other outstanding event of the day will be the one that Bild+ will stream from the Boxclub Home of Champions-Ka in Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen, Germany, since in this evening a handful of Ukrainian boxers with aspirations will fight. One of them is the young 9th IBF welterweight Karen Chukhadzhian 19(9KO)-1, who will try to extend his streak of victories to 20 and climb some more on the list by beating British Ryan Martin 14(6KO)-2-1, boxer that won some rounds in his loss against the undefeated Michael McKinson (next rival of Vergil Ortiz).
