El combate del peso pesado Tony Yoka vs. Martin Bakole confirmado para el 14 de mayo: “Será personal, Bakole”

Finalmente transcurrirán cuatro meses respecto a la fecha original para el duelo, pero por lo demás todo se mantendrá igual. Según ha confirmado la promotora All Star Boxing, el día 14 de mayo en el Accor Arena de Paris, Francia, se producirá el acordado enfrentamiento del peso pesado entre Tony Yoka y Martin Bakole, choque que estaba planeado para el 15 de enero antes de que las restricciones gubernamentales francesas llevasen a un aplazamiento.

Hay que recordar que posteriormente se le ofreció a Yoka una pelea eliminatoria IBF contra Filip Hrgovic, combate que aceptó pero que finalmente no llegó a la fase de negociaciones, ya que Bakole informó a la IBF de que él todavía tenía un contrato vigente para pelear contra Yoka y que se debía ejecutar antes que cualquier otro duelo.

Es por ello, que tras el anuncio oficial de la nueva fecha para el Yoka-Bakole, el primero de ambos señaló en su cuenta de Twitter:

“Tuve la oportunidad de una pelea que he estado esperando durante años, pero gracias a ti todavía tendremos que esperar. El 14 de mayo será personal, Bakole”.

Four months will pass from the original date for the duel, but otherwise everything will remain the same. As confirmed by the promotional company All Star Boxing, on May 14 will take place, at the Accor Arena in Paris, France, the agreed heavyweight fight between Tony Yoka and Martin Bakole, a clash that was planned for January 15 before French government restrictions led to a postponement.

It must be remembered that Yoka was later offered an IBF eliminator against Filip Hrgovic, match which he accepted but ultimately did not make it to the negotiation phase, as Bakole informed the IBF that he still had a contract in place to fight Yoka and that it should be executed before any other duel.

That is why, after the official announcement of the new date for the fight against Bakole, Yoka said on his Twitter account:

“I had a chance for a fight that I’ve been waiting for years but thanks to you we’re still going to have to wait. May 14 will be personal, Bakole”.
