Gennadiy Golovkin y Errol Spence abren como favoritos en las apuestas de cara a las unificaciones contra Ryota Murata y Yordenis Ugás

Aunque los dos duelos habían sido confirmados por parte de uno de los púgiles participantes en ellos y ya se sabía cuál iba a ser la fecha de ambos combates desde hacía días, finalmente han sido anunciados oficialmente por parte de los organizadores los choques Gennadiy Golovkin vs. Ryota Murata, unificación WBA-IBF del peso medio, y Errol Spence Jr. vs. Yordenis Ugás, unificación WBA-WBC-IBF del peso wélter. Estos enfrentamientos se producirán con sólo una semana de diferencia, puesto que el primero tendrá lugar el 9 de abril en el Super Arena de Saitama, Japón, y el otro el 16 de abril en el AT&T Stadium de Arlington, Estados Unidos.
Con ambos choques entre campeones situados en el calendario de forma definitiva, han surgido ya las apuestas de partida para los dos enfrentamientos, en las que son sólidos favoritos Golovkin y Spence.
En el caso del kazajo, éste se sitúa a 1,12 € por euro apostado ante un Murata por el que se pagan 5,0 €. Curiosamente, esta es prácticamente la diferencia exacta con la que abrió en las apuestas el campeonato mundial WBC del peso pesado Tyson Fury vs. Dillian Whyte. Por lo tanto, aunque que “GGG” combata en Japón como visitante puede haber reducido algo su margen respecto al que habría tenido en otro potencial escenario, el hecho es que en las cuotas de arranque existe casi tanta seguridad en que Fury vencerá a Whyte como en que Golovkin batirá a Murata, algo que podría dar que pensar bastante a algunos.
Respecto al Spence-Ugás, el estadounidense Spence parte como favorito con una diferencia bastante grande si tenemos en cuenta en qué contexto se produce el choque. Normalmente, las unificaciones dejan cuotas bastante igualadas, habiendo unas cuantas decenas de céntimos de separación entre los contendientes, o a lo sumo poco más de un euro, pero en este caso Spence es favorito con 1,25 € por los 3,75€ de Ugás.
Puede que según pasa el tiempo esta diferencia se pueda reducir, especialmente si alguien “filtra” alguna noticia negativa sobre el estado de salud de Spence, que padeció un accidente de tráfico y meses después una lesión en un ojo. Con todo, por ahora los bookies no ven excesivamente igualado el duelo, y tienen a los combatientes situados a la misma distancia que hay entre los peso pluma Shakur Stevenson y Óscar Valdez, encuentro en el que muchos están totalmente convencidos de que el defensivo y elusivo Stevenson ganará con gran solvencia.

Although the two duels had already been confirmed by one of the boxers participating in them and the date of both fights had been known for days, finally the clashes Gennadiy Golovkin vs. Ryota Murata, WBA-IBF middleweight unification, and Errol Spence Jr. vs. Yordenis Ugás, WBA-WBC-IBF welterweight unification had been officially announced by their organizers. These bouts will take place just one week apart, since the first one will be on April 9 at the Super Arena in Saitama, Japan, and the other on April 16 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, United States.
With both matches definitively placed on the calendar, the oppening bets for both confrontations have been published. In them Golovkin and Spence are clear favorites.
In the case of the Kazakh, he stands at 1/6, while Murata is underdog at 4/1. Interestingly, this is practically the same difference at which oppened the heavyweight championship Tyson Fury vs. Dillian Whyte. So while “GGG” fighting as a visitor in Japan may have reduced his margin somewhat compared to what he would have had in another potential scenario, the fact is that at the starting odds there is almost as much certainty in that Fury will defeat Whyte as in that Golovkin will beat Murata, something that could give another perspective to some bettors regarding both bouts.
As for the Spence-Ugás unification, the American Spence is favorite with a notable difference if we take into account the context. Normally, the unifications have even odds, but in this case Spence is favorite at 1/4 and Ugás is underdog at 5/2.
As time goes by the difference could be reduced, especially if someone «leaks» some negative news about Spence’s health. All in all, for now the bookies don’t see the duel as too even, as they have the boxers at the same distance existing between featherweights Shakur Stevenson and Óscar Valdez, a fight in which many are totally convinced that the defensive and elusive Stevenson will win very clearly.
