“Salvi” Jiménez se proclamó campeón de España superpluma con gran actuación y KOT sobre Adrián Rodríguez

Sucediendo a Juan Félix Gómez, actual titular UE del peso superpluma, este jueves se coronó a un nuevo campeón de España del peso superpluma. Y es que en el duelo entre los imbatidos coaspirantes Adrián “El Cazador” Rodríguez 6(2KO)-1(1)-1 y Salvador “Salvi” Jiménez 9(3KO)-0 fue el segundo el que capturó el cinto vacante en la mayor victoria de su carrera hasta la fecha. El triunfo de Jiménez llegó por KOT en el sexto asalto y tras anotarse tres knockdowns.
Tras un cierto tanteo de ambos con el jab, en el primer asalto Jiménez impactó un cruzado diestro que dañó a Rodríguez, que fue atacado seguidamente por una peligrosa serie de curvos. Con todo, el púgil superó el mal momento e incluso sacó algún contragolpe, de modo que, pese al mal comienzo, para el segundo asalto Rodríguez estaba recuperado e incluso los dos ofrecieron intercambios. En ellos de nuevo “Salvi” pareció marcar la diferencia con su explosividad y potencia, moviendo a su oponente un tanto con su eficaz cruzado diestro, aunque Rodríguez mantuvo el orden y trató de caminar el ring e imponer su jab.
Los planteamientos tácticos de los dos se asentaron, con Jiménez portando la iniciativa y Rodríguez tratando de abrir el ring. Estando las cosas así, “El Cazador” llegó con algún afilado jab y alguna combinación uppercut-hook, pero los bloqueos de Jiménez estaban funcionando, en ocasiones supo dar un paso atrás y seguía llegando con duros golpes en cruzado y gancho que sacudían a su contrincante, por lo que fue construyendo una importante ventaja.
Desde el cuarto round Rodríguez intentó anticiparse con puntuales embestidas, pero “Salvi” no se dejó sorprender y siempre terminó recuperando la iniciativa y conectando nuevos precisos puños. Pese a ello, cuando se anunciaron las cartulinas parciales, un juez increíblemente daba un empate, cosa que pareció llevar a Jiménez a ser más agresivo, logrando en el quinto round derribar a su oponente con cruzados enlazados antes de un uppercut-gancho que estremeció a su contrincante. Este knockdown fue sucedido por otros dos en el sexto asalto, ambos a causa de ganchos, uppercut y directo. El último de los derribos casi hizo caer del ring a Rodríguez, así que, aunque el valiente boxeador se levantó y trató de continuar, su esquina paró acertadamente el choque.
Al margen de los asaltos de experiencia útil que habrán extraído ambos del combate, Jiménez logró anotarse un valioso triunfo, puesto que ganó su primer duelo titular y ante su rival más exigente hasta la fecha sobre el papel, algo que además podría valerle el ingreso en el ranking UE. Asimismo, pese a algunos desajustes lógicos por su falta de experiencia profesional, Jiménez tuvo un boxeo convincente y una sólida actuación, por lo que, a la vez que se inicia su reinado (que podría afianzar con algunas interesantes defensas potenciales), demostró que su desarrollo está siendo muy bueno y que está listo para una nueva fase en su trayectoria.
Alex Rat ganó en tres rounds
Después de esta pugna tuvo lugar la contundente victoria en el tercer asalto del peso superpluma Alex Rat 14(5KO)-4(1)-2, que derrotó por KOT al visitante Helber Rojas 14(12KO)-7(5)-2.
El directo de mano adelantada de Rat martilleó contra Rojas, cuya cabeza fue sacudida aparatosamente además por certeros cruzados y ganchos zurdos. Después de dos rounds de castigo, en los que el visitante mostró valentía e hizo lo que pudo por intentar conectar volados, Rat derribó a Rojas en el tercer episodio y poco después de la reanudación obligó a la esquina de su rival a tirar la toalla después de asestarle, entre otros puños, ganchos de izquierda con variación de altura, un directo y un cruzado diestro.

Succeeding Juan Félix Gómez, current EU super featherweight titleholder, a new Spanish super featherweight champion was crowned this Thursday. The duel between the undefeated Adrián “El Cazador” Rodríguez 6(2KO)-1(1)-1 and Salvador “Salvi” Jiménez 9(3KO)-0 ended with the victory of Jiménez, who captured the vacant belt in the biggest success of his career to date. Jiménez’s triumph came by TKO in the sixth round and after scoring three knockdowns.
After both did some testig with the jab, in the first round Jiménez connected a right hook that hurt Rodríguez, who was then attacked by a dangerous combination. However, the boxer overcame this bad moment and even threw some counterpunches, so that, despite the negative start, by the second round Rodríguez was recovered and both even exchanged. In this exchanges again “Salvi” seemed to be the superior boxer with his explosiveness and power, shooking his opponent somewhat with his effective right hook, although Rodríguez kept his order and tried to walk the ring and impose his jab.
The tactical choices of the two settled, with Jiménez having the initiative and Rodríguez trying to open the ring with his movements. “El Cazador” came in with some sharp jabs and some uppercut-hook combinations, but Jiménez’s blocks were working, he knew to take steps back and kept coming with hard hooks that staggered his opponent, so he was building an important advantage.
From the fourth round Rodríguez tried to anticipate with punctual attacks, but «Salvi» was not surprised and always ended up recovering the initiative and connecting new precise hands. Despite this, when the partial scorecards were announced, a judge incredibly had a draw, which seemed to lead Jiménez to be more aggressive, managing in the fifth round to drop his opponent with a combination of hooks after an uppercut-hook. This knockdown was followed by two others in the sixth round caused by hooks, uppercuts and straight punches. The last of the falls almost knocked Rodriguez out of the ring, so although the brave boxer got up and tried to continue, his corner stopped the bout.
Apart from the useful experience that both will have extracted from the fight, Jiménez managed to score a valuable victory, since he won his first championship and against, on paper, his most demanding rival to date, something that could also put him in the EU ranking. Also, despite some logical mistakes due to his lack of professional experience, Jiménez had a convincing boxing and a solid performance, so that, while his reign begins (which he could strengthen with some interesting potential defenses), he showed that his development is going very well and that he is ready for a new phase in his trajectory.
Alex Rat won in the third round
After this fight took place the resounding victory in the third round of super featherweight Alex Rat 14(5KO)-4(1)-2, who defeated the visitor Helber Rojas 14(12KO)-7(5) by TKO.
Rat’s jab hammered Rojas, whose head was shaken backwards by well-aimed lead hooks. After two rounds of punishment, in which the visitor showed courage and did what he could to try to connect hooks, Rat dropped Rojas in the third episode and shortly after the restart forced his rival’s corner to throw in the towel after impacting, among other punches, left hooks and a straight right.
