En la Salle des Sports Sainte-Croix de su localidad de residencia, Frejus en Francia, el invicto Gustave “Marvelous” Tamba 17(11KO)-1 se proclamó anoche campeón de la Unión Europea del peso supermedio. El cinturón vacante lo conquistó ante el italiano-rumano Dragan “Nico” Lepei 20(10KO)-5(3)-2, que fue derrotado por knockout en el segundo asalto. Tamba se anotó un knockdown en el primer episodio que puso las bases de la conclusión en el siguiente round, en el que Lepei fue arrinconado y castigado hasta la detención del combate.
Los primeros clasificados en ranking UE son Daniele Scardina, Giovanni De Carolis, Padraig McCrory y Ronny Landaeta, de los cuales este último es el que probablemente acepte la posición de aspirante obligatorio.

At the Salle des Sports Sainte-Croix in his hometown of Frejus, in France, the undefeated Gustave “Marvelous” Tamba 17(11KO)-1 was proclaimed European Union Super Middleweight Champion last night. He won the vacant belt against Italian-Romanian Dragan “Nico” Lepei 20(10KO)-5(3)-2, who was defeated by knockout in the second round. Tamba scored a knockdown in the first episode that set the stage for the conclusion in the next round, in which Lepei was cornered and punished until the stoppage of the fight.
The top ranked fighters in the EU ranking are Daniele Scardina, Giovanni De Carolis, Padraig McCrory and Ronny Landaeta, of whom the latter is likely to accept the position of mandatory contender.
