Antes del enfrentamiento entre la estadounidense Franchon Crews-Dezurn 8(2KO)-1 y la sueca Elin Cederroos 8(4KO)-1 sorprendemente se extendió la equivocada idea de que la segunda tenía más pegada y cualidades y que iba a lograr el triunfo, pareciendo que muchos de quienes decían tales cosas realmente no habían visto pelear a ninguna de las dos púgiles. Sin embargo, lo que sucedió sobre el ring difícilmente pudo sorprender a quienes conociesen sus boxeos, logrando Crews-Dezurn una amplísima victoria por decisión unánime (doble 99-91 y un 97-93) con la que aunó los títulos mundiales WBA, WBC, IBF y WBO.
Los encontronazos en el centro del ring entre ambas tuvieron el resultado esperado, con la lenta y poco explosiva Cederroos recibiendo los brutales ganchos de Crews-Dezurn, quien además llegó con algún largo jab con espacios. La diferencia entre las boxeadoras se hizo todavía más evidente en el segundo asalto, en el que la sueca quedó tocada por un gancho zurdo, dificultades a las que se añadió en el tercer round una aparatosa hemorragia nasal. Por ello, y teniendo menos contundencia y menos precisión y un planteamiento frontal, la situación se volvió complicadísima para Cederroos.
A base de gran coraje, Cederroos llegó con algunos buenos rectos en el cuarto round, pero volvió a ser sacudida por fortísimos curvos que agravaron preocupantemente su sangrado. Viendo la situación tan favorable, Crews-Dezurn fue más agresiva hacia la mitad buscando sentenciar su triunfo, pero la alta y fuerte visitante encajó los golpes e hizo lo que pudo por contestar en los intercambios, de modo que la pelea se alargó pese a la manifiesta superioridad de la local.
Dado que en el tramo final su adversaria no se derrumbó e incluso volvió a la carga, llegando con nuevos rectos, la estadounidense, que estaba visiblemente cansada, tuvo que recurrir a contragolpes en directo y hook. No obstante, si bien tuvo que regresar al boxeo sin iniciativa y recibió algunos precisos directos, nuevamente Crews-Dezurn conectó manos muy claras que ni siquiera permitieron que Cederroos redujese la diferencia en dos de las tarjetas.
El problema que tiene ahora Crews-Dezurn es que reina en una categoría que en estos momentos sólo cuenta con 24 púgiles activas en el mundo, por lo que sus rivales potenciales son muy pocas y el nivel medio de las mismas, así como su renombre, es realmente bajo. Por ello, si no logra pactar un combate contra la ganadora del Marshall-Shields (que pelearán por la corona indiscutida del peso medio) o no consigue hacer ascender de categoría a alguna boxeadora destacada del peso medio o superwélter, Crews-Dezurn se tendrá que conformar con defensas de muy poco relieve.

Before the clash between the American Franchon Crews-Dezurn 8(2KO)-1 and the Swedish Elin Cederroos 8(4KO)-1, it was spread the mistaken idea that the second had more punch and qualities and that she was going to achieve victory, seeming that many of those who said such things had not seen fight neither of the two boxers. However, what happened in the ring could hardly surprise those who knew their boxing, as Crews-Dezurn achieved a wide unanimous decision victory (double 99-91 and one 97-93) with which she unified the WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO belts.
The exchanges in the center of the ring had the expected result, with the slow and not very explosive Cederroos receiving brutal hooks from Crews-Dezurn, who also connected some long jabs with distance. The difference between the boxers became even more evident in the second round, in which the Swedish was hurt by a left hook, difficulties to which a severe nosebleed was added in the third round. Therefore, and having less forcefulness and less precision and a frontal approach, the situation became very complicated for Cederroos.
Using her great courage, Cederroos landed some good straight hands in the fourth round, but she was again shook by very strong hooks that worsened her bleeding worryingly. Seeing such a favorable situation, Crews-Dezurn was more aggressive towards the mid-point trying to close the fight, but the tall and strong visitor took the blows and did what she could to answer in the exchanges, so the fight dragged on despite the manifest superiority of the local boxer.
Given that in the final stretch her opponent did not break and even returned to charge, connecting new straight punches, the American, who was visibly tired, had to resort to counterattacks. However, although she had to return to a boxing without initiative and received some precise punches, Crews-Dezurn again landed very clear hands that did not even allow Cederroos to reduce the difference in two of the scorecards.
The problem that Crews-Dezurn has now is that she reigns in a division that currently only has 24 active fighters in the world, so her potential rivals are very few and their average level, as well as their popularity, is really low. Therefore, if she fails to reach a fight against the winner of the match Marshall-Shields (who will fight for the undisputed middleweight crown) or fails to agree a defense against an outstanding middleweight or super welterweight boxer, Crews-Dezurn will have to settle with defenses of very little importance.
