Según ha confirmado oficialmente el propio campeón mundial WBA del peso superpluma, el venezolano Roger Gutiérrez, su programada defensa para el 10 de julio en Venezuela ha quedado cancelada debido a que el dominicano Héctor Luis García rechaza pelear como visitante en su país. Sea así o no, lo cierto es que se espera que a este mundial, que teóricamente iba a ser emitido gratuitamente por YouTube, ahora se le busque una sede en Estados Unidos y una retransmisión de una gran cadena, especialmente si se maniobra para que PBC organice el evento.
Por otro lado, teniendo en cuenta cómo está configurado el calendario, no es ni mucho menos seguro que el Gutiérrez-García encuentre una nueva fecha para el mes de julio, siendo probable que termine aplazándose como mínimo hasta agosto.
