Ali Akhmedov vs. Gabriel Rosado añadido al evento Canelo-Golovkin III

En diciembre de 2020, el prospecto kazajo del peso supermedio Ali Akhmedov sufrió todo un revés a sus aspiraciones en una derrota contra pronóstico a manos de Carlos Góngora, mientras que unos meses más tarde el estadounidense Gabriel Rosado logró una de sus mayores victorias dando la sorpresa ante Bektemir Melikuziev. Más de un año después de este último resultado, ha sido confirmado que Akhmedov y Rosado se enfrentarán en el respaldo del evento Canelo vs. Golovkin III, que se producirá el día 17 de septiembre.
A pesar de que los resultados arriba mencionados fueron una variación en sus carreras, el hecho es que desde entonces ambos boxeadores han mantenido sus tendencias habituales. Es decir, Akhmedov se ha recuperado de su única derrota con nuevas arrolladoras victorias y Rosado ha seguido sufriendo derrotas y castigo, especialmente en sus doce asaltos ante Jaime Munguía.
Por lo tanto, aunque la ventaja en experiencia de “King” Rosado es descomunal, es inevitable que un Akhmedov más fresco, potente y motivado sea considerado favorito sobre un rival veterano y que cada vez está más cerca de que su gran resistencia se vea quebrada. Incluso si hay ciertas dudas sobre la capacidad de Akhmedov para manejarse en aguas profundas.
En el anuncio oficial, Akhmedov señaló:
“Estoy feliz de ser parte de este evento en DAZN PPV [será un evento de pago por visión en Estados Unidos y Canadá]. Es una gran oportunidad para que demuestre mis habilidades, especialmente contra un oponente tan fogueado como Gabriel Rosado. Rosado tiene mucha experiencia y tiene un historial de pelear contra los mejores talentos en esta división, lo que me motiva aún más”.
En cuanto a Rosado, éste afirmó:
“Estoy deseando ser parte de una de las mayores carteleras del año. Esta es una oportunidad para hacer lo que hice contra Bektemir [Melikuziev] y volver a situarme en lucha por un título mundial.”

In December 2020, Kazakh super middleweight prospect Ali Akhmedov suffered a big setback in an unexpected defeat against Carlos Góngora, while a few months later American Gabriel Rosado scored one of his biggest wins with an upset over Bektemir Melikuziev. More than a year after this last result, it has been confirmed that Akhmedov and Rosado will battle in the support of the card Canelo vs. Golovkin III, which will take place on September 17.
Despite the above mentioned results were a variation in their careers, the fact is that since then both fighters have maintained their usual trend. In other words, Akhmedov has recovered from his only loss with new overwhelming victories and Rosado has continued suffering losses and punishment, especially in his twelve rounds against Jaime Munguía.
Therefore, although “King” Rosado’s experience advantage is huge, it is inevitable that a fresher, more powerful and motivated boxer like Akhmedov will be considered favorite over a veteran rival that is getting closer to the day when his great resistance will be definitively broken. As for Rosado, he stated:
