En la misma categoría se desarrollará el semifondo, un mundial WBA del peso superligero para el cual Alberto Puello pesó 63,3 kg (139,5 lb) y Batyr Akhmedov dio 63,4 kg (139,75 lb).
Antes de este cruce se producirá el campeonato mundial WBA del peso superpluma [59,0 kg o 130 lb] entre Roger Gutiérrez y Héctor Luis García, quienes dieron ambos el citado techo de la división.
Finalmente, el cartel se iniciará con un duelo, pactado tres libras (1,4 kg) por encima del peso superligero [63,5 kg o 140 lb], entre Brandun Lee, que pesó 64,8 kg (142,75 lb) y Will Madera, que marcó 64,6 kg (142,5 lb).
