Los mejores combates del fin de semana (25-27/8/2022)

Tras una semana boxística que tuvo un sábado trepidante, en esta ocasión habrá jornadas menos repletas de combates. Aun así, como siempre, habrá algunas cosas que mencionar y peleas que se podrán visualizar gratuitamente a través de YouTube.
Jueves 25 de agosto
El Air Albania Stadium de Tirana, Albania, acogerá una de las contiendas con mayor interés para los aficionados locales en la historia reciente. Y es que el mejor boxeador albano de la actualidad, el peso wélter Florian Marku 11(7KO)-0-1, 13º IBF, disputará su primer combate profesional en su país enfrentándose al mexicano Miguel Ángel “Máquina ” Parra 21(14KO)-2(2)-1. De todos modos, Marku, que en su racha actual ha sumado triunfos ante Maxim Prodan y Chris Jenkins, será claro favorito para vencer a un Parra que nunca ha logrado una victoria ante un rival de nivel medio-alto y que el año pasado fue fácilmente noqueado por un boxeador muy por debajo del top 15 como Roiman Villa. En principio la cartelera será televisada por ESPN Knockout.
También el jueves, The Hangar en Costa Mesa, Estados Unidos, será la sede para un PPV de Fite que estará encabezado por un buen test a la pegada del prospecto estadounidense de buena carrera amateur Ernesto “Tito” Mercado 6(6KO)-0. Y es que este peso ligero, que fue oro nacional juvenil, buscará mantener su 100% de knockouts ante el argentino Alfredo “Alfri” Blanco 22(11KO)-10(1), un buen encajador que aguantó todos los rounds ante el peligroso Alexander Besputin y que sólo ha sido batido antes del límite por el pegador Omar “Pollo” Aguilar.
Viernes 26 de agosto
En cuanto al viernes, destaca una velada que se producirá en Belgrado, Serbia, emitida a través de Ren Tv y YouTube, en la que tendrá lugar el retorno al ring (tras otro año de inactividad más) del excampeón mundial ruso del peso crucero Murat “Iron” Gassiev 28(21KO)-1. Este continuará su andadura en el peso pesado pugnando contra el estadounidense Carlouse Welch 21(18KO)-2(1)-1, un veterano boxeador que llegó a aparecer brevemente en las listas, pero que no cuenta con victorias mencionables y que teóricamente debería ser vencido con solvencia por el potente Gassiev, incluso aunque el extitular no esté al 100%.
En el respaldo, el 6º WBO e IBF del peso supermedio, el también ruso Aslambek “The Hulk” Idigov 21(7KO)-0, disputará su primer combate del año, a la vez que intentará mantener su posición en las clasificaciones, midiéndose al argentino Abraham “Turco” Buonarrigo 11(9KO)-2, campeón de Sudamérica fuerte, competente y sin derrotas antes del límite.
Otro evento que, en principio, también contará con emisión por YouTube será el que se desarrollará en el San Joaquín County Fairgrounds de Stockton, Estados Unidos, donde dos peso superwélter con similitudes en sus récords como el mexicano Damián “Samurai” Sosa 20(11KO)-1 y el estadounidense Ronald “Diablo” Cruz 18(12KO)-1-1 tratarán de obtener quizás la mayor victoria de sus carreras hasta la fecha y un decisivo impulso para acercarse a oportunidades más significativas.
El viernes se producirán también estos otros combates:
-En el Korakuen Hall de Tokio, Japón, el destacado prospecto del peso supergallo Yoshiki Takei 4(4KO)-0 continuará su rapidísimo avance profesional peleando por el cinturón OPBF ante el campeón filipino Pete “Thunder” Apolinar 16(10KO)-2(2).
-En Zinacantepec, México, ESPN Knockout y Estrella Tv emitirán un combate de revancha entre los peso supergallo Hytan Ramos 11(3KO)-5-2 y Ernesto Salcedo 13(10KO)-2(1). En el primer duelo, en julio de 2021, Ramos batió a Salcedo por KOT en cuatro rounds.
-Desde el Campo Hotel Nono Luigi de Oncativo, Argentina, Direct Tv televisará la primera defensa como campeón de Sudamérica del peso superligero de Maximiliano “El Profe” Segura 13(10KO)-1(1) ante Axel “El Principito” Peralta 9(3KO)-3(1)-1, combate en el que el titular será claro favorito.
Sábado 27 de agosto
El mayor combate del sábado será el enfrentamiento entre los excampeones José “Sniper” Pedraza y Richard “RC” Commey, que buscarán escalar hasta la parte alta de las listas del peso superligero. En el respaldo combatirán pesos pesados como Jared Anderson, Efe Ajagba y Richard Torrez, si bien ante rivales ante los que serán amplísimos favoritos.

Al margen de este evento, hay un par de carteles que mencionar. En el ATM Studio de Breslavia, Polonia, TVP Sport emitirá un nuevo combate del invicto peso pluma Kamil “Szczurek” Laszczyk 29(10KO)-0, que sobre el papel afrontará uno de los choques más exigente de su carrera viéndose las caras con el campeón de Argentina del peso superpluma Kevin “La Maquinita” Acevedo 21(6KO)-4(1)-3, un púgil que, pese a un inesperado tropiezo el pasado diciembre, ha tenido varias actuaciones meritorias y debería darle rounds de trabajo.
En el respaldo, el peso wélter Michal Lesniak 15(4KO)-1-1 y el peso semipesado Pawel August 12(5KO)-0 deberían vencer por decisión rodajes ante boxeadores resistentes como Josef Zahradnik 14(8KO)-6 y Aro Schwartz 19(13KO)-5-1.
Por otro lado, en el Centro de Convenciones Vasco Núñez de Balboa de Bella Vista, Panamá, televisado por TyC Sports, se subirá al cuadrilátero el pegador cubano del peso superpluma Pablo Vicente 19(16KO)-1, que buscará seguir subiendo posiciones en el ranking WBA (en el que es 9º) capturando un título menor ante el mexicano Miguel Arévalo Mejía 19(5KO)-2(1)-1, que sufrió su última derrota en 2019 ante Jon Fernández.
Acompañando a este duelo, el peso superpluma argentino Neri Ariel “El Maldito” Cruz 15(8KO)-0 no debería tener grandes problemas para batir al local Jorge “El Búfalo” Sánchez 19(5KO)-5(3), mientras que el también peso superpluma Jaime Arboleda 18(14KO)-2(2) intentará lograr su tercer triunfo desde su derrota ante Chris Colbert combatiendo contra su compatriota Jhonatan Arenas 19(13KO)-1.
Para terminar el sábado quedan por mencionar dos escenarios más:
-En el Packard Music Hall de Warren, Estados Unidos, dos piedras de toque como Denis Douglin 23(15KO)-8(4) y Cecil McCalla 23(10KO)-5 se enfrentarán en un bien emparejado combate del peso medio, mientras que la peso superpluma Carla Torres 7(0KO)-6(1), que llega de sus dos mayores victorias, tratará de continuar la racha ante la exretadora mundial nigeriana Helen Joseph 17(10KO)-5-2.
-En el Suamlum Night Bazaar de Bangkok, Tailandia, emitido por YouTube, el joven peso supergallo Thattana Luangphon 17(13KO)-0-1 intentará obtener su cuarta victoria del año peleando por un título menor WBC contra el filipino Kevin “The Bull” Aseniero 10(5KO)-3(1)-1.

After a boxing week that had a Saturday full of interesting bouts, the coming days will not have many relevant fights. Still, as always, there will be some clashes that deserve to be mentioned and fights that can be watched for free on YouTube.
Thursday, August 25
The Air Albania Stadium in Tirana, Albania, will be the venue for one of the most interesting fights for local fans in recent history. That is because the best current Albanian boxer, the welterweight Florian Marku 11(7KO)-0-1, 13th IBF, will have his first professional match in his country facing the Mexican Miguel Ángel «Máquina» Parra 21(14KO)- 2(2)-1. In any case, Marku, who in his current streak has scored wins against Maxim Prodan and Chris Jenkins, will be the clear favorite to beat Parra, who has never achieved a victory against a medium-high level opponent and who last year was easily knocked out by a fighter well below the top 15 like Roiman Villa. Saturday’s biggest bout will be between former world champions Jose “Sniper” Pedraza and Richard “RC” Commey, who will be looking to climb to the top of the super lightweight division. Heavyweights such as Jared Anderson, Efe Ajagba and Richard Torrez will fight in the undercard, albeit against rivals against whom they will be wide favorites. Read more following the link.
Letting aside this event, there are a couple of cards more to mention. At the ATM Studio in Wroclaw, Poland, TVP Sport will air a new fight for the undefeated featherweight Kamil “Szczurek” Laszczyk 29(10KO)-0, who on paper will face one of the most demanding clashes of his career against the Argentina super featherweight champion Kevin «La Maquinita» Acevedo 21(6KO)-4(1)-3, a fighter who, despite an unexpected setback last December, has had several meritorious performances and should give him rounds of work.
In the support, welterweight Michal Lesniak 15(4KO)-1-1 and light heavyweight Pawel August 12(5KO)-0 should win by decision stay-busy fights against resistant boxers like Josef Zahradnik 14(8KO)-6 and Aro Schwartz 19(13KO)-5-1.
