Las puntuaciones fueron de doble 49-46 y un 50-45.
La diferencia en contundencia y ejecución de golpeo a favor de Heaney le sirvió a éste para conectar buenos directos diestros y hooks zurdos desde el centro del ring ante Flatley, que pese a su valentía erraba muchas de sus manos y tenía problemas para lidiar con el jab de su rival. Pese a su inferioridad, Flatley hizo lo que pudo para atacar y dar trabajo, pero fue contragolpeado con precisión y su rostro se enrojeció.
Alcanzado el quinto asalto, Heaney padeció un grave corte en la ceja derecha por un fortísimo cabezazo, deteniéndose la pelea y llegándose a la lectura de cartulinas.

El peso superpluma italiano Michael Magnesi 21(13KO)-1 descubrió por las malas que poseer un falso cinturón mundial (el repulsivo título IBO) no le convierte realmente ni en un boxeador de élite ni en un sólido top 15, siendo derrotado en un entretenido choque de estilos por el campeón nacional británico Anthony “The Apache” Cacace 20(7KO)-1. El triunfo de Cacace fue por decisión dividida, ya que dos jueces le dieron el merecido triunfo por 116-112 y 117-111 pero el restante dio un 116-112 para Magnesi difícil de justificar.
El visitante fue muy agresivo, tratando de acortar los espacios y descargar sus fuertes golpes de poder, pero durante el primer cuarto el hábil y espigado Cacace conectó jabs, directos y nítidos uppercuts a la contra que le permitieron llevarse la mejor parte. British Nathan Heaney 16(6KO)-0 may not reach the bouts of the highest level in the middleweight division, but it is clear that while his professional career lasts, he and his many fans will enjoy it to the fullest. On Saturday, after entering the ring again supported by the enthusiastic singing from the spectators, Heaney defeated Jack “Quiet Storm” Flatley 19(4KO)-3(1)-1 by technical decision. The scores were double 49-46 and one 50-45.
The difference in forcefulness and punching technique in favor of Heaney served him to connect good right hands and left hooks from the center of the ring against Flatley, who despite his courage missed many of his shots and had problems dealing with the jab of his opponent. Despite his inferiority, Flatley did what he could to attack and give work, but he was precisely counterpunched and his face reddened.
In the fifth round, Heaney suffered a serious cut on the right eyebrow due to a very strong headbutt, so the fight was stopped and went to the scorecards.

Cacace’s victory was by split decision, since two judges gave him the well-deserved victory with 116-112 and 117-111 but the third one strangely scored the bout as 116-112 for Magnesi.
The visitor was very aggressive, trying to shorten the distance and unleash his power shots, but during the first quarter the skillful and tall Cacace landed jabs, straight shots and sharp counter uppercuts that allowed him to win the rounds. In addition, when they exchanged at close range, Cacace resisted well Magnesi’s explosive hooks, answered him with accurate hooks down and stopped his offensives with clinches.
Magnesi didn’t give up, and continued to push forward and attack fiercely with his hooks, getting better results in the second quarter while Cacace suffered a cut from a clash of heads in the sixth round. However, when the pressure from Magnesi seemed most overwhelming, “The Apache” landed several good straight punches in the eighth round and ended up rocking his opponent. This didn’t dissuade the Italian, who continued to fight hard trying to win, but Cacace used his movements, his cunning counterpunches and his holds to end up achieving the win.
