La velada de Let’s Go Management terminó con Lucas Ballingall mostrando un buen boxeo y mucha habilidad para derrotar por amplia decisión unánime a Boy Jones Jr. y proclamarse campeón de Inglaterra del peso superligero. Crónica y vídeo del combate siguiendo el link.
En el semifondo, campeonato Southern Area del peso ligero, Martin McDonagh fue estremecido y perdió un punto, pero logró noquear en el último asalto a Connor Marsden, capturando así el título en posesión de éste. Crónica y vídeo del combate siguiendo el link.
En cuanto al otro campeonato Southern Area, en este caso por el vacante cinto del peso gallo, Jordan Purkiss supo estar a la altura de las circunstancias pese a su desventaja en experiencia y logró una merecida victoria a los puntos sobre Ryan Walker. Crónica y vídeo del combate siguiendo el link.
Respecto a la velada emitida por ESPN Knockout, el noqueador del peso superpluma Eduardo Núñez 23(23KO)-1 estuvo cerca de perder su 100% de knockouts ante Willmank Canónico Brito 12(10KO)-1(1)-2, pero terminó logrando un nuevo KOT en el décimo y último asalto con el que continuó su contundente racha. Ahora Núñez debería empezar a pensar en la disputa de un importante test para clasificarse en el top 15 y tratar de demostrar que está listo para utilizar su pegada en la parte alta de la división.
También se impuso por KOT, en su caso en el séptimo asalto, el peso pluma Héctor Escobar 17(14KO)-0 a un Edgar Alor 14(12KO)-3(1)-1 que nunca había sido batido antes del límite, por lo que en adelante debería asentarse en combates a ocho y diez asaltos ante púgiles más experimentados para continuar su adecuado desarrollo.
El peso supermedio Lukasz Stanioch no logró lidiar exitosamente con el veterano Khoren Gevor, puesto que sus fallos técnico-tácticos y la mala fortuna se combinaron para asestarle por sorpresa su primera derrota profesional en una decisión técnica. Crónica del combate siguiendo el link.

-Llevando su racha a once triunfos, el peso gallo Víctor “Scarface” Reyes 20(13KO)-2-1 superó a José Martín “Potro” Estrada 12(6KO)-4(1)-1, de modo que se situará muy cerca de los rankings y necesitará encarar más peleas a diez asaltos para consolidar o mejorar su posición.
-El peso superpluma tanzano Ibrahim Class Mgender 28(13KO)-6(3) dejó claro que está en el mejor momento de su carrera noqueando sobrecogedoramente al mexicano Gustavo Piña 10(5KO)-5(2)-2 en el noveno asalto, si bien sus derrotas por KOT ante “Rocky” Hernández y Azinga Fuzile generan dudas razonables sobre sus posibilidades de triunfo en futuras peleas de nivel alto.

La larga y exitosa carrera de la mexicana Jackie “La Princesa Azteca” Nava llegó a su fin con una victoria ante la argentina Gloria Elena “La India” Yancaqueo, que ofreció un combate mucho más igualado de lo que sugirieron las tarjetas. En esta misma velada, el excampeón mundial Luis “Pantera” Nery 33(25KO)-1(1) no tuvo problema alguno para ganar en tres asaltos un rodaje ante un sustituto de Jesús “Estrella” Ruiz, el castigado David Carmona 22(9KO)-10(3)-5; el peso ligero Carlos “El Tiburón” Sánchez 23(19KO)-1(1) regresó a la senda del triunfo con un KOT en el séptimo episodio sobre Elvis “Rockanrolero” Torres 20(11KO)-3(3)-2; y el peso superwélter Jorge “Chino” García 24(20KO)-3 logró una previsible victoria sobre Jorge “Maromerito” Páez Jr. 42(25KO)-15(6)-2 con un KOT en el tercer round.
Pasando a la otra cartelera mexicana, la monarca WBC del peso supermosca Lourdes “La Pequeña Lulú” Juárez 34(4KO)-3(1) perdió su cinturón a manos de Asley González 15(7KO)-2, que la derrotó por decisión mayoritaria (96-94 doble y un 95-95). Al margen de la posibilidad de una revancha, González en teoría debería tener que enfrentarse también a una difícil oponente como su retadora obligatoria, la titular interina Adelaida Ruiz.
En el semifondo del Juárez-González, el prometedor peso supermosca David “El General” Cuéllar 23(16KO)-0 no encontró rival en el exaspirante mundial panameño Gilberto “El Cacique” Pedroza 21(9KO)-11(4)-2 al que batió por knockout en el cuarto episodio, pudiendo posicionarse ahora en el top 5 de dos organismos.
En cuanto a la velada polaca, el exaspirante mundial Michal Cieslak se proclamó campeón de Polonia del peso crucero derribando cinco veces y batiendo por knockout en el quinto round a un Krzysztof Twardowski sin derrotas antes del límite. Crónica del combate siguiendo el link.
En este mismo evento, el invicto peso medio Meiirim Nursultanov 18(10KO)-0 fue uno más de los púgiles que padeció dificultades ante el argentino Marcelo “El Terrible” Cóceres 31(17KO)-5(1)-1, al que sólo pudo derrotar por ajustada decisión unánime (96-94 doble y un 98-92) en un combate que le dará valiosa experiencia de calidad y que le servirá para subir peldaños en las listas.
Además, el peso superpluma kazajo Bekman Soylybayev 15(6KO)-1 sumó un triunfo (con título menor en juego) por KOT en el séptimo sobre Siphosethu Mvula 16(7KO)-5(2)-1 que le podría llevar a la clasificación WBA y el exretador mundial del peso medio Kamil Szeremeta 23(7KO)-2(2)-1 logró su segundo triunfo de recuperación (tras la peor racha de su carrera) venciendo por abandono en el séptimo asalto a Vladyslav Gela 12(7KO)-5(3).
El sábado también se produjo un campeonato de España del peso superligero en el que Jon Fernández logró el cinturón vacante derrotando en el tercer round a José Osado. En el respaldo de estos dos encuentros, el peso semipesado Adrián Torres ganó un choque de estilos ante Ousmani Traoré, la peso pluma Alba Sánchez venció en unos segundos un desparejadísimo duelo ante Valentina Hristova y el peso medio Iker Fernández a duras penas venció a David Bency. Por otro lado, en Reino Unido los peso wélter Jamie Stewart y Ben Fields combatieron por el cinturón Midlands Area en un entretenido e igualado choque en el que quedaron de manifiesto las virtudes y defectos de ambos. Concluyendo el artículo, quedan por mencionar estos otros choques:
-El invicto peso wélter Anas Messaoudi 14(9KO)-0 demostró que tiene futuro, al menos en la escena continental, derrotando por decisión unánime (80-72 y doble 79-73) al competente Andrey Maik 9(1KO)-1(1).
-El peso superwélter cubano Yankiel Evander Rivera 7(3KO)-1 sufrió la primera derrota de su carrera por una decisión unánime (doble 75-77 y un 74-78) favorable a Karol Welter 11(3KO)-1. El prospecto superligero Mateusz Polski 3(3KO)-0 no sólo batió a un Adam Ngange 20(13KO)-8(1)-2 sin derrotas antes del límite sino que lo logró por KO en el primer asalto.
-El peso gallo Christian Carto 20(13KO)-1(1) siguió recuperando impulso con una victoria por decisión unánime (77-75, 78-74 y 79-73) sobre Héctor “La Maquinita” Sosa 14(8KO)-1, y volverá a subirse al cuadrilátero otra vez el mes que viene.
-La peso ligero Maira “La Panterita” Moneo 11(2KO)-1 tuvo más dificultades de las previstas en su combate del peso superligero ante Yamila Esther “La Maquinita” Reynoso 12(8KO)-12-3, pero se anotó una decisión unánime (doble 96-94 y un 97-93) que la mantendrá en la órbita del mundial en una u otra división.

The Let’s Go Management evening ended with Lucas Ballingall showing good boxing and skills to defeat Boy Jones Jr. by wide unanimous decision and become English lightweight champion. Article and video of the fight following the link.
In the co-main event, Southern Area lightweight championship, Martin McDonagh was rocked and lost a point, but managed to knock out Connor Marsden in the last round, thus capturing the title owned by the latter. Article and video of the fight following the link.
As for the other Southern Area championship, in this case for the vacant bantamweight belt, Jordan Purkiss rose to the occasion despite his disadvantage in experience and achieved a well-deserved points victory over Ryan Walker. Article and video of the fight following the link.
Regarding the evening broadcast by ESPN Knockout, super featherweight puncher Eduardo Núñez 23(23KO)-1 was close to losing his 100% knockout ratio against Willmank Canónico Brito 12(10KO)-1(1)-2, but he ended up achieving a new TKO in the tenth and final round with which he continued his streak of stoppages. Now Núñez should start thinking about facing an important test in which look to enter in the rankings and try to show that he is ready to use his power at the top of the division.
Featherweight Héctor Escobar 17(14KO)-0 also won by TKO, in his case in the seventh round, against Edgar Alor 14(12KO)-3(1)-1, who had never been stopped before. From now, Escobar should focus in eight and ten round fights against more experienced fighters to continue his proper development.
Super middleweight Lukasz Stanioch was unable to successfully deal with veteran Khoren Gevor, as tactical flaws and misfortune combined to upset the unbeaten by technical decision. Article of the fight following the link.
In other Friday’s results:
-Taking his streak to eleven wins, bantamweight Víctor “Scarface” Reyes 20(13KO)-2-1 beat José Martín “Potro” Estrada 12(6KO)-4(1)-1, so he will get very close to the rankings and will need to face more ten-round fights to consolidate or improve his position.
-Tanzanian super featherweight Ibrahim Class Mgender 28(13KO)-6(3) made it clear that he is in his prime by brutally knocking out Mexican Gustavo Piña 10(5KO)-5(2)-2 in the ninth round, although his TKO losses to “Rocky” Hernandez and Azinga Fuzile raise reasonable doubts about his chances of winning future high level fights.

The long and successful career of Mexican Jackie “La Princesa Azteca” Nava came to an end with a victory over the Argentinian Gloria Elena “La India” Yancaqueo, who offered a much closer matchup than the scorecards suggested. On this same evening, former world champion Luis “Pantera” Nery 33(25KO)-1(1) scored an easy victory in the third round of a stay-busy bout against a substitute for Jesús “Estrella” Ruiz, the punished David Carmona 22(9KO)-10(3)-5; lightweight Carlos “El Tiburón” Sánchez 23(19KO)-1(1) returned to winning ways with a seventh round TKO over Elvis “Rockanrolero” Torres 20(11KO)-3(3)-2; and super welterweight Jorge “Chino” García 24(20KO)-3 achieved a predictable victory over Jorge “Maromerito” Páez Jr. 42(25KO)-15(6)-2 with a TKO in the third round.
Moving on to the other Mexican card, WBC super flyweight champion Lourdes “La Pequeña Lulú” Juárez 34(4KO)-3(1) lost her belt to Asley González 15(7KO)-2, who defeated her by majority decision (double 96-94 and one 95-95). Aside from the possibility of a rematch, Gonzalez should have to face also a difficult mandatory challenger as the interim titleholder Adelaida Ruiz.
In Juárez-González’s co-feature, promising super flyweight David “El General” Cuéllar 23(16KO)-0 beat former world challenger Gilberto “El Cacique” Pedroza 21(9KO)-11(4)-2 in the fourth round, and now will be ranked in the top 5 of two organizations.
As for the Polish evening, former world title challenger Michal Cieslak was crowned Polish national cruiserweight champion knocking down five times and beating by knockout in the fifth round Krzysztof Twardowski, who had never been stopped. Article of the fight following the link.
In this same bill, the undefeated middleweight Meiirim Nursultanov 18(10KO)-0 was another fighter who suffered difficulties against the Argentinian Marcelo «El Terrible» Cóceres 31(17KO)-5(1)-1, whom he was only able to defeat by narrow unanimous decision (96-94 double and 98-92) in a fight that will give him quality experience and that will help him climb on the official lists.
In addition, Kazakh super featherweight Bekman Soylybayev 15(6KO)-1 scored a win (with a minor title at stake) by TKO in the seventh round over Siphosethu Mvula 16(7KO)-5(2)-1 that could take him to the WBA ranking, and former world middleweight challenger Kamil Szeremeta 23(7KO)-2(2)-1 achieved his second recovery victory (after the worst streak of his career) defeating Vladyslav Gela 12(7KO)-5(3) in the seventh round.
On Saturday there was also a Spanish super lightweight championship in which Jon Fernández won the vacant belt by defeating José Osado in the third round. “Jonfer” will next face Samuel Molina, who won by stoppage his co-main event bout against Viorel Simion.
