O’Shaquie Foster sobre disputar el mundial contra Vargas: “Nunca soñé con ser olímpico, siempre quise ser campeón mundial”

Aunque el combate todavía está en fase de negociación, esto no ha impedido que el estadounidense O’Shaquie Foster esté absolutamente exultante por el hecho de estar emplazado a pelear por el vacante cinturón mundial WBC del peso superpluma contra el mexicano Rey Vargas.
Así, Foster ha dejado unas declaraciones llenas de entusiasmo para su promotora, Probellum. En ellas, Foster no sólo ha expresado su alegría, sino que también ha afirmado que la disputa del campeonato ante Vargas sólo es el primer paso en sus planes:
“Es un sueño hecho realidad. Estoy tan feliz que no puedo ni siquiera esconderlo. Es algo por lo que he trabajado desde que tenía ocho años. Nunca soñé con ser olímpico, siempre quise ser campeón mundial, así que me siento genial y estoy listo para ofrecer un espectáculo para todo el mundo. Siento que todo está pasando en el momento adecuado y que es mi momento para tomar el control. Me gustaría unificar una vez que tenga el título y entonces convertirme en indiscutido si puedo. Tengo grandes, grandes, grandes aspiraciones por delante. Vamos a hacer que suceda”.
Por otro lado, Foster afirmó que, por una corazonada, estudió a Vargas incluso antes de que éste fuese seleccionado como su rival, y que vio muchas cosas que puede explotar para lograr el triunfo:
“Por alguna razón encajaba en mi cabeza que Vargas pudiese ser el siguiente, simplemente porque era un campeón intentando ascender de división. Así que le presté mucha atención ese día. Tengo una buena idea de en qué consiste el boxeo de Vargas. No es el típico peleador mexicano, es espigado, pero veo cosas de las que me puedo aprovechar. No quiero decir demasiado ahora, porque esto es grande, pero definitivamente veo muchas, muchas cosas de las que puedo aprovecharme”.
Foster también afirmó lo siguiente de manera optimista:
“Creo en el destino, porque si no fuese por el destino, no estaría aquí. Estoy aquí por alguna razón. Siento que todo está sucediendo en el momento adecuado. Todo está yendo de la manera adecuada”.

Although the fight is still in the negotiation phase, this has not stopped the American O’Shaquie Foster from being absolutely euphoric by the fact that he is in position to fight for the vacant WBC world super featherweight belt against the Mexican Rey Vargas.
Thus, Foster has offered enthusiastic statements for his promotional company, Probellum. In them, Foster has not only expressed his joy, but he also stated that the championship bout against Vargas is only the first step in his plans:
“It’s a dream come true. And I’m so happy, I can’t even hide it. It’s something that I’ve been working for since I was eight years old. I never had a dream to be an Olympian, it was always to be a world champion so I’m feeling great and I’m ready to put on a show for the world. I feel like everything is happening at the right time and it’s my time to take over. I would love to unify once I get the title and then go undisputed if I can. I’ve got big, big, big aspirations coming up. We’re going to make it happen.”
On the other hand, Foster stated that, on a hunch, he studied Vargas even before he was selected as his opponent and he saw many things that he can exploit to achieve victory:
“For some reason it was strongly fitting in my head that it might be Vargas next, just because he was a champion trying to move up. So, I paid attention to him a lot that day. I’ve got a good idea of what Vargas is about. He’s not your typical Mexican fighter, he’s rangy, but I see the things that I can take advantage of. I don’t want to say too much now, because this is big, but most definitely see a lot a lot of things I would take advantage of.”
Also, Foster optimistically said:
“I believe in fate, because if it wasn’t for fate, I wouldn’t be here. I’m here for a reason. I feel like everything’s happening at the right time. It’s all coming together.
