Como dos semanas antes, Abass Baraou, alegando una lesión, se retiró de la pelea ante el francés Milan Prat 18(15KO)-0, que presenta una mala balanza riesgo-beneficio para sus contrincantes, al invicto pegador no le quedó otra que esperar a que su equipo salvase su participación en el evento Goulamirian-Egorov con un remplazo tardío.
Finalmente Prat no se quedó sin combatir, puesto que la EBU, que está en una situación de gran decadencia y que no ponía en juego su título superwélter desde hace un año, aceptó al modesto neerlandés Stephen Danyo 20(7KO)-6(2)-3 como aspirante al título europeo a pesar de su limitado nivel y de que venía de una derrota por KOT… De ese modo, en sólo dos rounds Prat se coronó campeón, Danyo se llevó una bolsa y la EBU cobró su porcentaje.
En el comienzo, Danyo pudo aprovechar el avance de su contrincante para alcanzarle con algún directo diestro a la contra, puesto que Prat estuvo como siempre bastante frontal y rígido. Pero los puños de Danyo no pudieron frenar o disuadir al local, que continuó presionando y muy pronto empezó a sacar peligrosos directos arriba y abajo y ganchos de mano adelantada.
En el segundo episodio Prat insistió golpeando al cuerpo con directos y hooks, haciendo que el neerlandés se centrase en intentar bloquear al torso. Así, tras doblarse y llevar sus manos al cuerpo para intentar reducir el efecto de uno de los rectos abajo de su rival, Danyo recibió un directo diestro descendente de Prat que le sentó en el tapiz. El visitante se levantó, y con coraje intentó atacar, pero un hook zurdo le sorprendió a la contra y le tiró a la lona de nuevo. Entonces Danyo tardó demasiado en alzarse y el árbitro paró el choque.
Con su potencia de golpeo a Prat le basta para aspirar a lograr múltiples victorias significativas en la escena continental europea, pero por el momento es difícil verle llegando más allá.
Es decir, si en el futuro llegase a explotar su pegada hasta el punto de ser capaz de poner en críticos apuros a cualquier peso superwélter del planeta con una única mano certera, quizás pueda abrir sus posibilidades. Pero no pareciendo esto viable, ya que cuando se sube de nivel los boxeadores se muestran más resistentes, parece difícil imaginarse a Prat causando estragos en la división con su avance frontal, en el que resulta preocupante la facilidad con la que puede ser golpeado por manos hábiles.
Por lo tanto, a la vez que Prat logró su primer título continental y extendió su racha y su fama de noqueador, apuntando a nuevos objetivos y logros, también empieza a quedar más claro que su pegada le está precipitando hacia pugnas de gran calado para las que necesita una evolución que todavía no ha materializado.

About two weeks before the fight, Abass Baraou, alleging an injury, withdrew from his clash against Frenchman Milan Prat 18(15KO)-0, who offers high risk-low reward for his opponents, so the undefeated puncher had no more option than to wait for his team to find a late replacement to prevent the cancellation of his European championship in the Goulamirian-Egorov event.

At the beginning, Danyo was able to take advantage of his opponent’s advance to hit him with some counter right hands, since Prat as always was too frontal and stiff. But Danyo’s punches could not stop or dissuade the local, who continued to press and soon began to unleash dangerous straight punches up and down and lead hooks.
In the second round, Prat insisted on targeting the body with right hands and hooks, making the Dutchman focus on trying to block the body shots. Thus, after bending and bringing his hands down to try to reduce the effect of one of the straight punches downstairs from his opponent, Danyo received a hard descending right hand that sat him on the mat. The visitor got up, and courageously tried to attack, but a counter left hook surprised him and knocked him to the canvas again. Then Danyo took too long to get up and the referee stopped the clash.
With his striking power, Prat has enough to aspire to achieve multiple significant victories on the European continental scene, but at the moment it is difficult to see him reaching goals in the world scene.
That is to say, if in the future he were to exploit his punch to the point of being able to critically hurt any super welterweight on the planet with a single accurate hand, perhaps he could open up his possibilities. But as this does not look viable, since when a boxer steps up in level he finds more resistant opponents, it seems difficult to imagine Prat wreaking havoc in the division with his frontal advance, specially being worrying the ease with which he can be hit by skillful hands.
Therefore, while Prat won his first continental title and extended his streak and his prestige as a knockout artist, aiming for new objectives and achievements, it is also becoming clearer that his punch is rushing him towards important fights for which he needs an evolution that has not yet materialized.
