Declaraciones de Mario Barrios, Jovanie Santiago, Lenier Pero y Viktor Faust de cara a la velada Vargas-Foster

En el semifondo del Vargas-Foster, el estadounidense Mario “El Azteca” Barrios afrontará su primer duelo en su ciudad de San Antonio desde que en octubre de 2020 noqueó a Ryan Karl. Así, sumándose su retorno a casa con recibir un nuevo hueco en una cartelera televisada, Barrios está entusiasmado:
“Todo el mundo sabe que voy con todo lo que tengo cuando entro en el ring, y estoy emocionado por volver por esta gran oportunidad en Showtime. Estoy todavía más motivado sabiendo que voy a pelear de nuevo en casa en San Antonio y darle a mi gente un gran combate. Todo el mundo va a ver puro entretenimiento boxístico, ya que voy a desplegar mis habilidades con malas intenciones. He demostrado que soy un guerrero cada vez que entro en el ring y voy a traer esa misma energía para Santiago”.
Por su parte, el puertorriqueño Jovanie “El Lobito” Santiago asegura que el choque estará repleto de entretenimiento para los fans:
“Esta va a ser una pelea muy emocionante. Estoy listo para ir ahí y lanzar muchos puños. Barrios y yo estamos buscando rebotar después de derrotas y mostrar que somos peleadores de élite. Eso va a hacer que sea una pelea llena de acción y sé que tengo todo lo que hace falta para salir con mi mano levantada. Los fans en San Antonio pueden esperar que lo demos todo desde el principio hasta el final”.
Pasando al choque del peso pesado entre el cubano Lenier Pero y el ucraniano Viktor Faust, el primero siente que este serio test es una oportunidad de oro para catapultarse a mayores cosas:
“Estoy verdaderamente deseando hacer mi debut en Showtime el 11 de febrero. Siempre, desde que comencé en el boxeo, he estado trabajando hacia mi meta de convertirme en el primer campeón mundial cubano del peso pesado. Faust es un buen oponente, y esta es de lejos la mayor pelea de mi carrera. Una victoria disparará mi carrera y me pondrá en una gran posición. Voy a aprovechar este momento y traer a casa una victoria para mi gente en Cuba. ”
Finalmente, Viktor Faust alabó a su rival, pero se mostró convencido de poder logar el triunfo:
“Esta es una gran oportunidad para que muestre mis talentos en Estados Unidos. Estoy especialmente feliz por volver contra un gran oponente como Pero. Fue un buen amateur, y sé que los dos entraremos a este combate con mucha confianza. Voy a ganar y a mostrarle a todo el mundo que estoy listo para hacer todo lo posible para alcanzar mi meta de convertirme en campeón mundial”.

In the co-main event of the Vargas-Foster evening, American Mario «El Azteca» Barrios will face his first bout in his city of San Antonio since he knocked out Ryan Karl in October 2020. Thus, returning home and receiving a new spot on a televised card, Barrios is excited:
“Everyone knows I come with everything I got when I step into the ring, and I’m excited to be back for this big opportunity on Showtime. I’m even more motivated knowing that I get to fight back at home in San Antonio and give my people a great fight. Everyone is going to see pure boxing entertainment as I’ll be putting my skills on display with bad intentions. I’ve proven that I’m a warrior every time I get into the ring and I’m bringing that same energy for Santiago.”
For his part, The Puerto Rican Jovanie “El Lobito” Santiago assures that the clash will be full of entertainment for the fans:
“This is going to be a very exciting fight. I’m ready to go in there and throw a lot of punches. Barrios and I are both looking to bounce back from losses and show that we’re elite fighters. That’s going to make this an action-packed fight and I know that I have everything it takes to leave with my hand raised. The fans in San Antonio can expect us to give it our all from start to finish.”
Moving on to the heavyweight clash between Cuban Lenier Pero and Ukrainian Viktor Faust, the former feels that this test is a golden opportunity to catapult himself to bigger things:
“I’m really looking forward to making my Showtime debut on February 11. Ever since I started boxing, I’ve been working toward my goal of becoming the first Cuban heavyweight world champion. Faust is a good opponent, and this is by far the biggest fight of my career. A victory will skyrocket my career and put me in a great position. I’m going to seize this moment and bring home a victory for my people in Cuba.”
Lastly, Viktor Faust praised his rival, but he is convinced that he can achieve victory:
“This is a great opportunity for me to show off my talents in the U.S. I’m especially happy to be back against a great opponent like Pero. He was a good amateur, and I know we’ll both be very confident heading into this fight. I’m going to win and show everyone that I’m ready to do everything possible to reach my goal and become world champion.”
