El combate coestelar de la velada de ProBox tuvo una muy rápida resolución, puesto que el peso wélter ruso, con buena carrera amateur, Vadim Musaev 6(3KO)-0 sólo necesitó un round para vencer al invicto mexicano Martín Álvarez 7(6KO)-1(1).
Tras algunas izquierdas rectas del zurdo Musaev y algunos cruzados diestros a la contra, Álvarez intentó acortar la distancia y se encontró con un certero izquierdazo descendente que le derribó. El púgil se puso en pie en el seis de la cuenta pero, mientras caminaba, a Álvarez le fallaron un poco las piernas y el árbitro decidió parar el combate.
La cartelera principal se inició con una excelente actuación del joven peso supergallo mexicano José “Chapulín” Salas 12(9KO)-0, que controló de principio a fin su pugna ante el olímpico ghanés Prince “Octopus” Dzanie 23(19KO)-1. Las puntuaciones en el triunfo unánime de Salas fueron 100-89, 100-89, 100-89.
El zurdo Salas, 17 años más joven y muchísimo más motivado, tuvo un ritmo combativo demasiado alto para Dzanie, ante el que se movió constantemente cambiando la dirección del giro antes de conectar buenas y variadas combinaciones. Entre ellas destacaron sus series de golpes rectos, sus ganchos diestros enlazados con directo de izquierda y sus combinaciones mezclando golpes a la cabeza y al torso con gran soltura. Además, Salas usó el jab y el cruzado diestro para frenar las ofensivas de su rival y usó precisas izquierdas rectas acompañadas de pasos en diagonal hacia su derecha para confundir y sobrepasar a su contrincante. Así, tejió un dominio táctico incuestionable.
Dzanie lo intentó y lo intentó, pero no tenía ni la velocidad de manos ni la rapidez mental para lidiar satisfactoriamente con un Salas muy atento en defensa y que con su agilidad de piernas era un objetivo constantemente móvil. Por si todo esto fuese poco, el infatigable Salas estremeció a Dzanie en el sexto asalto y en el noveno lo derribó con una izquierda recta (aunque los pies adelantados de ambos chocaron después del golpe). En definitiva, Salas ofreció un boxeo realmente completo y sólido y obtuvo un gran triunfo en su debut en Estados Unidos.

The co-main event of the ProBox evening ended very quickly, since Russian welterweight, with a good amateur career, Vadim Musaev 6(3KO)-0 only needed one round to defeat the unbeaten Mexican Martín Álvarez 7(6KO)-1(1).
After some straight lefts from the southpaw Musaev and some counter right hooks, Álvarez tried to close the distance and was met with an accurate left hand that knocked him down. The boxer got to his feet at the six of the count but, as he walked, Álvarez’s legs buckled and the referee decided to stop the fight.
The main card began with an excellent performance by the young Mexican super bantamweight José “Chapulín” Salas 12(9KO)-0, who controlled from start to finish his fight against Ghanaian Olympian Prince “Octopus” Dzanie 23(19KO)-1. The scores in Salas’ unanimous decision win were 100-89, 100-89, 100-89.

Among them stood out his series of straight shots, his right hooks linked with straight lefts and his combinations mixing blows to the head and body with great fluidity. In addition, Salas used the jab and right hooks to slow down or stop his opponent’s attacks and threw precise left hands followed by diagonal steps to his right to confuse his opponent. Thus, his dominance was unquestionable.
Dzanie tried and tried, but he had neither the hand speed nor the mental quickness to successfully deal with Salas, who was very attentive on defense and who, with his quick feet, was a constantly moving target. As if all this weren’t enough, the indefatigable Salas rocked Dzanie in the sixth round and dropped him with a straight left in the ninth (although their lead feet collided after the punch). In short, Salas put on a truly complete and solid boxing and he scored a great victory in his debut in the United States.
